Q + A

IMPORTANT! Before attending the ceremony, all guests must please sign THIS WAIVER to take the chairlift up to our ceremony site atop the mountain. If you do not wish to take the chairlift, a shuttle will be provided, but please let Krista know in advance if you'd like the shuttle service.

Please BE SURE to fill out the waiver above an hour before the ceremony to ensure there are no delays with our ceremony start time. Thank you!

What should I wear to the ceremony and reception?

Mountain cocktail attire... and dancing shoes. This is a dancing wedding; you know the drill. Think blazers, dresses, jumpsuits, and optional bolo ties and cowboy hats for the true mountaineers out there wanting to *look the part* in the Rockies. It will cool off at night in the mountains, so be sure to bring some layers, although our reception tent will be heated!

What can I expect at the Welcome Party?

All guests are invited to join us on Friday evening, September 5, for a welcome celebration at Strawberry Creek Ranch. Dinner and drinks will be provided. Dress attire is "casual cocktail"... think "classy ranch" or one notch below what you're wearing for the ceremony and reception. Items such as khakis, polos, button downs, bolo ties, cowboy hats/boots, blouses, sundresses, etc... dark jeans are totally fine, too—Clay is leaning toward wearing a sports coat with dark jeans and his cowboy hat, if that's helpful. Some will choose to lean into the "western ranch" aesthetics, some will wear casual cocktail attire. You do you!

What should I pack?

Sunscreen and chapstick are a must in Colorado, an umbrella (you never know what's in store!), a swimsuit if you'd like, comfy activewear for exploring, and layers for cooler nights and mountain weather. Layers are key this time of year. Cocktail attire for ceremony and reception.

What will the weather be like?

You never know in the mountains, but in general, it's going to be the perfect time of year. Expect highs in the 60s/70s during the day, with lows in the 30s/40s later at night when the sun goes down. Our reception tent will be heated, but the ceremony will occur atop the mountain, where temperatures could be a bit cooler in early September (60s/70s) and winds could be present. Be sure to dress in layers and pack sunscreen, chapstick... and an umbrella is smart, as well... although I don't want to even say that to jinx it. We will find out together what's in store for us the day-of!

Are babies and kids welcome?

Yes! We will have a few little ones at the wedding—young kids are welcome and the venue is kid-friendly. We just ask that you please let us know in advance if you plan to bring your young ones, as we will make sure our venue is set up and prepared for the litte ones dining (we have a few chair options that Krista will reserve for your kids so please be sure to loop her in).

How do I get there and where do I stay?

Be sure to check out the "Travel + Accommodations" page on our website here and feel free to ask Clay or Krista any questions.

What is there to do in Granby?

So much! Check out the "Things to Do" page or ask Clay and Krista for recommendations. We highly recommend going to Rocky Mountain National Park and Grand Lake.

Should I make this a weekend getaway or mini vacation?

Yes, hands down. Absolutely. We booked this venue because we wanted everyone to be able to stay together in one area and for all of our guests to be able to conveniently experience a mountain getaway. Feel free to extend your stay to explore more of this gorgeous region before or after our wedding day!

Who's going to be there?

Us! It was important to us that we keep our wedding somewhat small and private. Although we'd love to have everyone we love in attendance, it just simply isn't possible in our timeline, so we've made the decision to limit the guest list to immediate family and close friends. We thank you so much for your understanding of that decision.
