1. Book your transfer ahead of time. We're using USA Transfers. https://www.usa-transfers.com/. For the ride, they provide beer, drinks, snacks, etc. for a fee.

2. Check your credit card that it doesn't charge a 3% fee for international charges.

3. Tell whatever bank or credit card that you'll be using your card in Mexico.

4. Book any personal restaurant reservations at check in. They book up fast! It's included with your per night rate.

5. Steve says that phone carriers don't charge for international calls to Mexico and Canada but......or use What'sApp which is free.

6. Bring 1s, 5s, 10s and some 20s for tips.

It is important that our guests to book in the room block otherwise we get penalized. It doesn’t make sense and it’s not fair, but it is a reality. Besides, the rate in the room block is much better. **** Update ****

Finally, a stroke of luck! The Hilton gave us a room rate reduction since they are advertising a lower price on their website, outside of our room block. So, instead of the original rate of $426 per night, the new rate is $382 per night. That’s based on double occupancy. It is $315 per night for single occupancy. If you’ve already booked your room, don’t worry, they are going to reduce your reserved rate as well. If you have any questions, text me at 504–701–5709.

Listed in the Q&A section on the website. I stated that USA Transfers (there’s an App with the same name) is the name of the company we’re using after we land. We haven’t used them, but I did extensive research and this looks like an excellent option.

****Important****

Playa Del Carmen is about an hour from the airport, give or take. But if you take ANY transportation shuttle with other people, be aware that the shuttle will stop at everyone’s resort along the way to The Hilton. Typically Playa Del Carmen is the last or close to the last city to get dropped off. So it will take a lot longer than an hour if you don’t book a private transfer. If anyone wants, we can take a poll asking what time our guests’ flights are landing and we can connect whoever wants to try to coordinate a group transfer. I won’t be able to set it up for you, but I can at least connect anyone who wants to give this a shot. I’m sure a lot of our guests from New Orleans are going to be coming in on some of the same flights, as there are not many flights going to Cancun, daily, I would think.
