Our Wedding

How We MetWe met at work back in 2012. Kristen had just come back of leave, and Curt came to have his pay fixed. Kristen thought nothing of it and continued on, until they ran into each other again in 2014 on HMCS Protecteur. Curt is employed as a Hull Technician in the RCN, and Kristen as a Resource Management Support Clerk.Kristen was the junior pay clerk on board, and Curt came into her office to clear into the boat. It turned out, the chemistry between them was instant. As Kristen went through some of her old emails, she realized that she had helped him years earlier fix his pay issues. They soon started flirting through email, and eventually had their first date in Hawaii. Little did they know, they would soon go through the fire that would eventually end the Protecteur's life with the RCN. That event seemed to seal their fate for each other. The ProposalIt was August of 2015, and we were just finishing up a visit with my daughter Jasmine, and her grandmother Yvonne. As it was their last night in Victoria before they flew back home, we went for a family walk to Hatley Castle. As Layla chased geese, Kamryn, Jasmine and Kayne went geo-cashing. Curt and I walked hand in hand up the path towards the castle. He found a clearing, got down on one knee, in front of all of our children, and Yvonne (whom I consider a mother), and asked me to spend the rest of my life with him. It was the easiest thing I have ever answered in my life! Unfortunately we still giggle about the fact that Curt was covered in goose poop after his proposal!

Sara and Kristen have known each other for about 2 years, and she is currently our next door neighbor. She is Kristen's best friend on the west coast, and we don't know what we would do without her.She works as a legal assistant in Victoria. Sara has 2 children, Olivia and Ryan, and is an amazing step mother to her spouses 2 boys, Jackson and Curtis.She and her spouse Jay, have been together for 3 years. Sara has lived on Vancouver Island her entire life.

Julie and Kristen have been best friends since middle school. They have been through thick and thin together, and Kristen couldn't get married without her by her side. Julie is the wonderful mother of two boys, Wyatt and Jake. She and her husband Ron, reside just outside Fredericton NB. Julie is currently employed at the DECH in Fredericton NB. Kristen now, and always, have considered Julie her sister. They may fight like cats and dogs at time, but at the end of the day they are always there for eachother.

Miss Jasmine, is Kristen's eldest daughter. She is 10 years old and is a budding artist.She loves to cook, draw, and create things with her wild imagination. Jasmine and her sisters are standing as Junior Bridesmaids

Anna is Kristen's sister.She is 12 years old. Anna lives with her mom and dad, in Ontario.Anna loves horses, has many pet rats, and has recently began go-kart racing.Anna will be standing as a Junior Bridesmaid.

Martin and Curt met through work at CFB Esquimalt.Martin is married to his wife Sasha, and they have 2 children.Martin and his family currently live in Halifax NS. He is employed with the Royal Canadian Navy as a Hull Technician.Martin and his wife Sasha also have a photography business, and they will not only be doing our wedding photography, but Martin will also be Curt's Best Man.

Please call the farm to reserve. A non-refundable payment is required at time of booking. Shower facilities provided. Guests are responsible for bringing their own sleeping bag and pillow. Guests will be asked to put their gear in the back of the Hatfield Farm Inc. truck (parked at the bottom of the lane next to the parking lot) then make their way up the lane to the office. Hatfield Farm Inc. staff will drive everyone's overnight gear back to Fort Clayton. Guests staying in a trailer will be asked to park in the parking lot and make their way up the lane to the office. They will be taken back to Fort Clayton by horse drawn wagon for the ceremony. After the ceremony, a Hatfield Farm Inc. staff member will drive them to the parking lot and then escort them back to Fort Clayton to show them where to park their trailer. We provide electricity only and guests must provide their own electrical cord. Guests will not be allowed entrance to Fort Clayton any earlier than 5:00 pm. Breakfast is included in the cost of overnight accommodations.

Peggy's Cove, NS, Canada

The Halifax Citadel has long watched over the the harbour and the downtown core of the capital city of <a href="http://www.novascotia.com/about-nova-scotia/regions/halifax-metro">Halifax</a>. Originally built as a military fortication to protect the Empire from enemies (and the occasional pirate), today the Citadel and its distinctive Clock Tower act as a reminder of Halifax's rich past. Visit a place and time when the sounds of a modern, bustling port city are exchanged for the crack of rifle-fire and the skirl of bagpipes.

Nova Scotia Wineries 

On April 15, 1912, the "unsinkable" S.S. Titanic, pride of the White Star Line, struck an iceburg and sank. While the Carpathia was steaming towards New York with the 705 survivors of the Titanic disaster, the Canadian cable ship MacKay Bennett was steaming to the disaster site loaded with coffins, body bags and embalmers. It was their grisly duty to search for and retrieve the bodies of Titanic's 1,523 victims. They returned with some remains to be buried in Halifax. At Fairview Cemetery 121 victims of the Titanic disaster are resting. The graves are laid out not in straight lines, but curved to resemble the hull of a ship. The curved lines on the right-side are broken which is supposed to represent the area on the Titanic that struck the iceberg. What is also unique about the grave arrangements is that the graves outlining the hull of Titanic face the same direction as the actual wreck does at the bottom of the Atlantic. This is pure coincidence, but interesting nonetheless. Most of the bodies that were buried at Fairview were crew members. The next group were Third Class passengers. There are a few Second Class passengers and one First Class passenger. The other 29 victims buried in Halifax can be located at Baron de Hirsch Cemetery and Mount Olivet Cemetery. The Titanic plot at the Baron De Hirsch Cemetery was intended for Jewish victims of the Titanic. Many victims that were Jewish were, however, interred elsewhere while one passenger Michel Navratil was wrongly thought to be Jewish because he boarded the Titanic under the name Hoffman. The Mount Olivet Cemetery was intended for Catholic victims.
