We met the way most young people meet these days, online! I messaged him first with a GIF of a waving penguin and I guess you could say the rest was history from there. Shawn officially asked me to be his girlfriend on December 13th, 2021 after hanging out with me and some of my friends. That night we went on a double date with my friends to the Festival of Lights at Stone Hedge Golf Course and dinner at Applebee's. This has become a tradition that we do every year on our anniversary. Most of our time throughout our relationship has consisted of going to dinner, spending time with friends and family, and spending quality time with each other. We have also gone on multiple trips to New York City, a weekend in Jim Thorpe, and a Dean family vacation to Vermont. We moved into an apartment in downtown Scranton together in August 2022 and adopted our cat Mitch a couple months later in October.

We got engaged on May 6th, 2023 in front of my Aunt Mare's house. This is where Shawn first asked me to be his girlfriend and where most of our time spent together was in the first year of our relationship, so it has always been a special place for us. I had no idea that it was coming, which was exactly how he wanted it! We stopped by the house on our way to a fundraiser and I turned the corner to see both of our families standing there. I was so shocked and couldn't believe what was happening. Fun fact: that day was the first time our parents had met! Obviously I said yes and we had a little celebration at the house with our family and close friends. It was one of the best days of our lives!
