Our Wedding

We met the way most young people meet these days, online! I messaged him first with a GIF of a waving penguin and I guess you could say the rest was history from there. Shawn officially asked me to be his girlfriend on December 13th, 2021 after hanging out with me and some of my friends. That night we went on a double date with my friends to the Festival of Lights at Stone Hedge Golf Course and dinner at Applebee's. This has become a tradition that we do every year on our anniversary. Most of our time throughout our relationship has consisted of going to dinner, spending time with friends and family, and spending quality time with each other. We have also gone on multiple trips to New York City, a weekend in Jim Thorpe, and a Dean family vacation to Vermont. We moved into an apartment in downtown Scranton together in August 2022 and adopted our cat Mitch a couple months later in October. We got engaged on May 6th, 2023 in front of my Aunt Mare's house. This is where Shawn first asked me to be his girlfriend and where most of our time spent together was in the first year of our relationship, so it has always been a special place for us. I had no idea that it was coming, which was exactly how he wanted it! We stopped by the house on our way to a fundraiser and I turned the corner to see both of our families standing there. I was so shocked and couldn't believe what was happening. Fun fact: that day was the first time our parents had met! Obviously I said yes and we had a little celebration at the house with our family and close friends. It was one of the best days of our lives!

Room Code: KANKUK Please book rooms no later than 4/25/2025 to secure the group rate! *The Hilton is requiring at least a 2-day stay for our block because of events also happening in the city that weekend, so we would recommend this block for our out-of-town guests that are traveling in on Friday!

Since there is a gap between the ceremony and reception and we have a lot of out-of-town guests, we wanted to give some recommendations of our favorite things to do in the area while you're here!

This is most definitely one of our favorite bars in the city and a must-do for any gamer out there! From skee ball, to pinball machines, and Pac-man, this bar has it all! And the food and drinks are great as well! It is also located right by both hotels, so it's convenient for people staying in town!

This is also a great place to get food and drinks, and it happens to be steps away from our apartment!

Ale Mary's at the Bittenbender

Fans of "The Office" may remember numerous characters suggesting going to Cooper's for dinner or drinks, but it is one of the best places to get seafood in the area! It also has a gift shop with tons of memorabilia from the show for the superfan at heart!

Another one for "The Office" fans out there! Their pizza is known as "The Good Pizza" and I can confirm it is good!

Located right off Interstate 81, this is a great location for shopping, food, and activities!

Dave &amp; Buster's is new to the area and just opened in April! A great place to get food and have fun if you have the time to kill!

Things to Do

Registry

School bus shuttles will be transporting guests to and from the reception venue the day after the wedding. It will be leaving from the Radisson and returning there after the event. Shuttles will leave the Radisson at 4:00pm to transport guests up to the reception. There will be 2 trips back down to the Radisson at the end of the reception: one leaving at 9:00pm and another leaving at 10:00pm.
