When should I book my travel and accommodations?
We recommend that you book your accommodations and travel as soon as possible. Traverse City is a popular destination in the summer and August is peak season. Accommodations will likely be in high demand.
Have you reserved blocks of rooms at one or more hotels?
We have room blocks at Cherry Tree Inn & Suites, Park Place Hotel, the Hampton Inn, and Tru by Hilton. The number of room blocks in the summer are limited to ensure rooms are also available to book outside of reserved blocks. There are many other hotel options in Traverse City as well. The "Travel" page includes more details and a list of hotel recommendations.
What date should I RSVP by?
Please RSVP to all wedding weekend events by Saturday, June 22nd. All RSVPs are through our wedding website -- please see the "RSVP" tab.
How do I RSVP for the wedding weekend events?
RSVPs for all wedding weekend events are through our wedding website. Under the "RSVP" tab, please search your name and then follow the prompts to RSVP to each event -- please click all the way through "Send RSVP". You can also note any dietary restrictions through the RSVP process.
Will there be other events to attend during the wedding weekend?
We invite all guests to join us for a welcome party the evening before the wedding at Harbor Brook Hall from 8 - 10 PM (about a 10 minute drive from downtown).
What is the dress code for the welcome party?
The welcome party is dressy casual. We suggest that men wear a collared shirt and optional coat (no tie) and women wear a dress or separates.
Is there parking available at the welcome party venue?
Harbor Brook Hall has parking available on site both directly in front and to the left of the building. In the unlikely event that the main lots are full, there is also extra parking available behind the Speedway gas station across the street.
What time should I arrive at the wedding ceremony?
The wedding ceremony begins at 4:30 PM. We recommend arriving by 4:15 PM to allow time to be seated. There is also road construction planned on US-31 in Traverse City this summer so we recommend allowing extra travel time. Both Barlow Street and Hope Street are open to traffic crossing US-31 to access the Hagerty Center. We will update the wedding website as construction progresses.
What is the attire for the wedding?
The wedding is cocktail attire. We suggest that men wear a suit or dress shirt with jacket and tie and women wear a midi- or knee-length dress or dressy separates.
What is the wedding day itinerary?
The wedding ceremony begins at 4:30 PM. Cocktail hour and the reception will immediately follow the ceremony at the Hagerty Center. The reception ends at 10:30 PM.
Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors?
The ceremony will be outside (weather permitting) followed by an indoor/outdoor cocktail hour and indoor reception.
Are children invited to the wedding?
We love your children, but we are only able to accommodate children in the wedding party at the ceremony and reception due to space restrictions. We appreciate your understanding.
Is there parking available at the wedding venue?
The Hagerty Center has ample parking, although they do not allow overnight parking. The venue is also walking distance from downtown Traverse City and a few hotels.
May I take photos of the wedding ceremony?
We invite you to be fully present with us during our unplugged ceremony. Please keep all devices turned off and refrain from taking photos until after the ceremony. We are excited to see everyone's photos from the rest of the evening.
Do you have any suggestions for places to eat, drink, or see while in Traverse City?
