What is the closest airport?
The closest airport is Miami International Airport. It is a one hour drive (60 miles) to Largo Resort in Key Largo, Florida.
Is transportation provided?
Transportation to and from the airport is not provided. Once you arrive at Key Largo the hotel is 0.2 miles away from Largo Resort. Friends and Family are all invited to utilize the 6-person golf carts that are stationed outside of Largo Resort. The golf carts can be taken to Starbucks and local restaurants right outside the resort gates. The resort also provides four bicycles for guest to use.
What will the weather be like in December?
During the Keys winter months, it rarely rains so guests typically enjoy sunny skies and warm, but pleasant temperatures. It's not uncommon to see periodic temps in the low 80s in December, but the The average air temperature in Key West in December is: 77°(F)/25°(C) high, 67°(F)/19.5°(C) low. The average ocean-water temperature in December is 72°(F)/22°(C).
What to pack for Key Largo?
With its warm and humid weather and laid back lifestyle, pack casual lightweight cotton clothing for a visit to Key West. Shorts, short-sleeved shirts, sandals, bathing suits, brimmed hat, and sunglasses are basic necessities. In the cooler winter months, also pack a pair of jeans or pants and a light jacket or sweatshirt.
What to wear in Key Largo?
Key West is very casual and bohemian, and your dress can reflect that. Feel free to wear comfortable clothes, as you will be welcome in the finest restaurants in shorts and short-sleeves. If you do dress up, strive for an island-casual look, with linen, cotton, and other cool fabrics. Shoes should be comfortable and made for walking.
Are there restaurants near by?
Yes, all conveniently located within walking distance of the hotel and resort. Key Largos Conch House, Snooks Bayside Restaurant, Alfredo Cookhouse, Backyard at Key Largo Fisheries, Ballyhoos Grill, Bogies Cafe, Cafe Key Largo, Doc’s Dinner, Lazy Lobster, Sundowners on the bay, The high tide, Tower of Pizza and Upper Curst Pizza.
What happens after the ceremony?
After the ceremony, the wedding party will be taking pictures nearby for around an hour. Guests can head straight to the reception area where we will be serving finger foods and beverages.
Are there other wedding events I can attend?
Yes! Everyone is invited to the Welcome Dinner Friday evening to enjoy BBQ, drinks and a Keys sunset by the water on the resort. For those arriving early on Friday, throw on a bathing suit and joins us by the resort pool for a afternoon pool party. You can also utilize the “things to do” tab on our website to check out some other great local spots.
What time should I arrive on Saturday?
We recommend that you arrive an hour before the start of the ceremony, to make sure everyone is on time and we can get the party started as scheduled!
Where should guests park?
Parking is limited at the front of the resort, if you are staying at the Hampton Inn (under the group code) feel free to utilize our golf cart shuttle service. If you plan on staying at other hotels, try to carpool or utilize their hotel shuttle service.
Are kids welcome?
Little ones are welcome, we just ask that you accompany them inside the grand lodge for the duration of the Ceremony (approximately 30 mins).
Are the ceremony and reception location wheelchair accessible?
The Ceremony, cocktail hour and Reception will all be on a beach. The Grand Lodge is Wheelchair accessible and in line of site to view the ceremony.
Will food and drinks be served at the reception? What kind of food?

May I take a centerpiece/candle/flowers home as a souvenir?
Yes, We don’t want the flowers, centerpieces, or other decorations (the non-reusable/sellable ones) go to waste!
Can I take and post pictures of the wedding on social media?
Yes, we encourage guests to post pictures on to their social media channels, our only request is that you tag each photo with our wedding hashtag #WiersmaWeddingDay so we can keep track of all of your pictures!

When is the RSVP deadline? Do I need to mail back my RSVP or can I do it online?
Please RSVP online using this website. Hop on over to the RSVP Tab to let us know if you will be attending or not by November 1st.
Does your wedding have a theme?
It’s in the keys so bohemian, beach, semi formal with touches of tropical elements.
What should I wear? Is there a dress code?
No, just recommendations. It’ll be Beach Semi-Formal/Cocktail. Females- a cocktail dress, formal romper or jumpsuit. If you choose to wear a beachy dress, consider it in either tea-length or maxi to avoid looking too casual. Dressy sandals, flats, and wedges are acceptable footwear options. The reception will be in a sandy area. Males - While a jacket isn’t required, a breathable sport coat or unique blazer is a fun addition to closed-toe, such as a loafer or deck shoe. Though dressy sandals are acceptable, avoid standard, beachwear flip flops. Nice, short-sleeved shirts such as polos are fine as well as nice shorts (think Chinos) with a belt. Lighter colors and/or bold prints will elevate your casual look.
