Our Wedding

Lauren and Dennis met in the spring of 2021 in a way that’s become quite common these days—online. With a little nudge from Lauren’s Aunt Dunyelle, who suggested she download Bumble, it took less than a week before Lauren and Dennis both swiped right! After exchanging a few promising messages, they decided to meet in person. Their first date was at Kava in the South End, where they enjoyed afternoon drinks and easy conversation. The connection was instant, and they quickly realized how well they clicked—even though Dennis had to rush off for a tennis match (there’s still some debate over whether he gave Lauren a heads-up about that!). Nevertheless, Dennis texted her that same evening, and from then on, their relationship flourished. They bonded over shared adventures—discovering new restaurants, cozy nights in with Dennis cooking, weekend getaways, visits to the Cape, and spending time with family and friends. But it was in the everyday moments—long conversations, laughter, walks with Maisie, and simply enjoying each other's company—that they fell in love.&nbsp; After dating for a couple of years and spending nearly all of their free time together, moving in together felt like the natural next step. They seamlessly settled into life as a family of three—Lauren, Dennis, and of course, Maisie. In October 2023, during a beautiful fall trip to Martha’s Vineyard, Dennis had something special planned. Despite the perfect weather all day, the evening rain settled in the late afternoon. Undeterred by the weather, Dennis seized the moment that evening. In a quiet spot before dinner, he proposed to Lauren. And, of course, Lauren said "yes"! Since their engagement, life has been a whirlwind. Lauren graduated with her PhD, they both started new jobs, they moved to Connecticut, continued to travel, and, of course, began planning their wedding. Now, as they begin the next chapter of their lives together, Lauren and Dennis cannot wait to celebrate with their friends and family in one of their favorite places. They thank you all for your love and support and look forward to creating many more beautiful memories together!

Our wedding ceremony and reception are both located at the Wequassett Resort! This incredible resort, one of the finest on the Cape, offers luxurious accommodations and amenities. We encourage anyone who wishes to stay on-site to book a room. If you would like to book a room to receive a discount through the wedding block you can call the Wequassett hotel directly at 508-432-5400 and reference the Sussman Scarpa Wedding. Wequassett Resort & Golf Club

Located just 1 mile from Wequassett, Pleasant Bay Village Resort is a great hotel option! Room rates range from $285-$575 plus tax, including cottages with multiple rooms available on site. A 3-night minimum is required that weekend, but a few Extra Deluxe rooms with 2 queen beds are available for just 2 nights, priced at $345-$375 per night plus tax. A charming place to stay! The Chatham Motel is just minutes from Downtown Chatham and Harding's Beach. It’s an excellent, affordable option with only a two-night minimum. To reserve, visit their website or call 508-945-2630, and mention the Sussman/Scarpa wedding. Room rates range in the $200s.

Another excellent option in Chatham is the Hawthorne Motel! To book, call and mention the Sussman/Scarpa wedding. Please note there is a three-night minimum, and room rates range from $370-$450 per night.

Another option for those only looking to stay a couple nights is the Chatham Seafarer Inn. Also located in Chatham Inn, this charming option could be a good option!

Airbnb's and VRBO's are extremely popular on the Cape! When exploring airbnb's, make sure to check their proximity to the Wequassett resort. If you are possibly interested in sharing an airbnb and want to know more about the guest list, feel free to reach out to either Dennis or Lauren!

Boston Logan is the closest major airport to the Cape. It is approximately an hour and a half to two hour drive to the Wequassett Resort from the airport, where renting a car in Boston would be your best option to drive down.

RestaurantsProvincetown&nbsp;Take a day trip to P-town to explore the culture and cuisine. We enjoy spending time here exploring the shops, various art exhibits and trying a new restaurant. There are lots of options that have seating right on the beach along with more upscale dining. The Lobster PotA landmark in P-town well known for its clam chowder. We really enjoyed the Clams Casino! The CanteenA casual counter-serve, beach themed hole in the wall on the beach to enjoy fresh seafood.&nbsp; WellfleetThe town of Wellfleet has a wonderful small downtown to explore along with lots of restaurants offering delicious seafood.&nbsp; CeraldiWe have not had the chance to try this one yet, but our friends have raved about their tasting menu. Reservations are required and should be made a few weeks in advance.&nbsp; The PearlOne of our staples when we are on the Cape! A casual atmosphere offering very fresh seafood (fried, grilled and broiled) with lots of different sauce options. Be sure to get the Oysters! Mac’s ShackMac’s is always a fan favorite for its unique dishes and sushi options. Enjoy the outdoors with seating on seashells under their tent and grab a drink at the bar while you wait.&nbsp; Chatham: Chatham SquireAn institution in Chatham to grab a pint day or night and enjoy the scene. Excellent food and drink options along with live music.&nbsp; Chatham Pier Fish MarketWorth a visit to grab a lobster roll and fried seafood and sit by the docks watching the fisherman bring in their catch of the day! Red Nun Bar and GrillCozy setting to enjoy a pint with a fantastic burger.&nbsp; Twenty-Eight Atlantic&nbsp;Located at the Wequassett Resort, a Forbes Five Star restaurant offering coastal cuisine and beautiful views of Pleasant Bay.&nbsp;

The National Seashore Forty miles of pristine sandy beach, marshes, ponds, and uplands support diverse species. Lighthouses, cultural landscapes, and wild cranberry bogs offer a glimpse of Cape Cod's past and continuing ways of life. Swimming beaches and walking and biking trails beckon today's visitors. Our favorite beaches nearby are Coast Guard Beach and Nauset Light Beach. Watch out of the piping plovers!

GolfCranberry Valley Golf CourseOne of Dennis’ favorite courses nearby offering a classic Cape course in excellent condition year after year. They offer a grass driving range, along with a pitching area with bunkers. The Eastham location is always busy in the summer during the morning, but you can order in advance at Orleans and pickup. PB Boulangerie BistroA renowned French bakery in Wellfleet with fantastic pastries.&nbsp;

Where we met and spent our first few years together. We love the city and there are so many places to share, we do not know where to start.
