Alex and Lauren matched on a dating app in November of 2020; the easiest way to date during COVID. They met for brunch and didn't want the date to end so walked around a nearby park and ended at Little Man Ice Cream. Being new to Denver and living in the neighborhood, Lauren loved going to Little Man any chance she got. Alex agreed to it even though it was a little too cold to be eating ice cream outside!

Alex's first impression: He thought Lauren was beautiful, confident and was looking forward to meeting her new puppy.

Lauren's first impression: She knew Alex was different from other guys she had gone on dates with and was excited for a second date!

Alex came over to Lauren's apartment and got to meet Daisy! They made dinner together, watched a movie and ended the date in the Tow yard! Alex had parked in the visitor parking that didn't allow parking past 11 pm. Lauren assured him that his car would be fine but when they walked outside a few minutes after 11, his car was gone! Lauren drove the two of them to the tow yard where Alex had a hard time getting his car back because his wallet was inside the car. He was trying to keep his cool and thought it wasn't a great way to end the date. It made for an interesting bonding experience, but all ended well with Alex getting his car back and sharing a first kiss in the parking lot!

Lauren and Alex bought their first house together just outside of Denver and Daisy finally got a yard to run around in! We've put a lot of work into the backyard since moving in. Lauren's vegetable garden gets bigger every year and Alex keeps the yard looking like a golf course green!

Alex new once he had a house that he wanted to rescue another dog. Lauren came across a post on Facebook from one of the local rescues about a 4 to 6-month-old puppy named Doodle Bob. He was abandoned at a dog park and seemed to have a lot of anxiety. We went to meet him the day after seeing the post and brought him home the same day. Daisy's life has never been the same since! And Bob has come such a long way from the anxious and scared puppy that he was that first day. It was a huge learning experience for Lauren and Alex with some sleepless nights and lots of frustration along the way, but they grew together during the process.

Alex made dinner reservations for Valentine's Day 2025 right down the street from where we had brunch on our first date. After dinner, we walked to Little Man for dessert. He was silent the whole walk there and Lauren could tell that something was up. We were in line waiting for our ice cream and Lauren made a comment about how the can was decorated all cute for Valentine’s Day. Alex mentioned that we should take a photo but Lauren said let’s wait until we get our ice cream. He was adamant about taking it then and a woman behind them overhead and offered to take it. While Lauren handed over her phone, Alex got down on one knee and (finally) popped the question!
