Their first photo the first night they met: May 9, 2015

Leticia and Arya’s love story began in one of the most romantic of ways:… a college house party. In 2015, he was visiting VCU for his friend’s graduation, as was she. As she entered the crowded house, he spotted her right away and proceeded towards her to introduce himself. They spent the evening celebrating their friends and chatting together in downtown Richmond. The next morning, she added him on Facebook and soon after, their first official date took place at a sushi restaurant.

They survived 4 years of long distance (partly international) with multiple career and academic advancements. After 5 years of dating and before moving in together, they finally introduced their families to one another. Soon after and amidst the pandemic, both families came together multiple times to celebrate Arya’s VCOM graduation, Leticia’s Hopkins graduation, and to drive them both down to their new home in vibrant New Orleans.

Fast forward to almost 8 years of dating, Arya proposed on a sunny February morning at the Botanical Gardens in Miami, and Leticia was thrilled to say yes. They cannot wait to embark on this next chapter of their love story and to celebrate with all of their loved ones in beautiful Lima.
