Q + A

What makes getting married at Bethania Moravian special?

Bethania Moravian Church is Lindsay's parents church and she attended with them weekly prior to meeting Nick. The historic small town of Bethania was founded by Moravian immigrants and the first service was held at Bethania Moravian in 1759. Lindsay is a descendant of these early settlers through her mother's lineage. Her direct ancestor of 9 generations ago, Johannes (Hans) Schorr, married his wife, Maria Schmidt, at Bethania Moravian on April 27, 1763. Hans Schorr along with many other ancestors are buried at the graveyard canopied by ancient cedars up the hill behind the church. They are so happy to honor these ancestors whose faith and sacrifice they are blessed by and wish to include them in their celebration. Additionally, they are grateful for the prayer, support, guidance, and love that many parents and grandparents have blessed them with.
