Q + A

What should we expect?

A casual, non-traditional, DIY approach to a wedding weekend full of rootin' tootin' good times!

What's the vibe of the area and the venue?

We're in the Georgia mountains, y'all! It's about as laid back as America gets. Our venue has cabins scattered throughout, which will be accommodating as many of our guests as possible. In addition to the cabins, there are several shared spaces in which the wedding events will take place. Outside of scheduled events, all guests (even those not staying in one of the onsite cabins) are welcome to explore the venue grounds. Please check out our venue's website to get a full understanding of our wedding's setting and the surrounding area.

Can we bring our kids?

All events are adults only with the exception of kids 2 & under and the bride's immediate family (who have bribed their way in by promising not to put their Aunt Baby in a home when she's old and senile). We know this can make travel plans extra tricky; if you are having trouble making arrangements, please reach out to the bride or groom.

Where are you registered?

We aren't! We're old and domesticated which means we have all the "stuff" we need (and then some... have y'all seen Justin's saw collection?). Truly, your love & friendship is the best gift and we are so grateful for it. No gifts, please.

Why Hiawassee? It's so hard to get to! And to pronounce!

Our cabin in Hayesville, NC is very near & dear to our hearts and plays a main character in our love story. We had romanticized the idea of holding our wedding there but quickly realized that the logistics would require more effort & funds than we were willing/able to fork over. Instead, we searched for a venue within 30 minutes or so of the cabin in order to hopefully give our guests a small dose of the area that has provided us with such soul-nourishment, while also allowing us to host a minimally stressful event. Come and see Hi-uh-wah-see! (sorry.)

Will Charlie be there?

Yes, duh. We are working out the legalities of a ceremony officiated by howls.

What should we bring?

- party pants - low expectations - good time attitude - maybe some layers but idk, I'm not your mom - comfortable shoes for hiking if you're the type to participate in such endeavors

What's the dress code?

Please see our "attire" page for all the fashionable info you'll need!

Will there be an open bar?

Come on now, we ain't no nerds. But if you vom, you owe us the $500 cleaning fee. As most of us have plucked at least a few gray hairs, we are hoping that with age has come the wisdom to respect our body's limits. Namaste.
