If you're looking for a Saturday morning activity (after the run/walk, of course ;) ) consider exploring this indoor market with seasonal vegetable offerings, other foods, and miscellaneous goods.
Lace up your skates and take a spin around the rink, right outside our venue! You can rent skates here but can also bring in your own and pay a nominal fee to enjoy the ice.
If you are looking to explore some Detroit history, there is no better place to start than the Motown Museum!
For the art enthusiasts.
This is a very large used book store with interesting books.
The Coney Dog Thing
We aren't big on hot dogs but Detroit 'pioneered' the coney dog and the two flagship spots to get them are naturally right next to each other. If your GI system can handle it, folks like going to Lafayette Coney Island and then American Coney Island to compare the two coney dogs.
If this tickles your fancy, post-wedding would likely be the time to go as I cannot imagine hitting a dancefloor with that in your tummy.
Although by no means comprehensive, here are a few of our favorite places to eat:
- Grandma Bob's (pictured above): Detroit style pizza
- Michigan & Trumball: another Detroit style pizza joint
- Ima noodle: Japanese
- Leila's: Mediterranean fusion
- Baobab Fare: East African
- Rocco's: Italian deli
There are lots of great spots to eat - if you try somewhere you particularly like, we'd love to hear about it :)
