This website is a great resource for visiting Kansas City. We may have some overlap of our favorite places, but maybe that is because they're good!
Our nation's official WW1 museum with exhibits and artifacts spanning the lead-up to the war, the conflict before USA's involvement, our entry into the war, and the aftermath at home and abroad.
Real talk: Josh Gibson was a better slugger than Babe, Cool Papa Bell was faster than Rickey, and Satchel Paige is the greatest baseball player of all time. There, I said it. Find out why it's true at the museum.
Magnificent Beaux-Arts building is a restored throw-back to the golden era of train travel. Also home to family-friendly exhibits such as Science City and the Gotlieb Planetarium. While you're visiting it will be host to the Disney100 exhibit, celebrating 100 years of the Walt Disney Company. Disney lived in Kansas City from ages 10 to 21 and started Laugh-O-Gram Studios here, where Mickey Mouse was "born".
This interactive museum of children's literature has been in the works for years. It is now open and fun for all ages! We have not gone, but it looks like fun and has had some great press!

One of Anthony Bourdain's "13 Places to Eat Before You Die", this is probably the most famous and top place for BBQ in KC. If it’s meal time, plan for a wait with a long line out the door. This original location is located in a gas station not far from downtown. We recommend the Z-man! Good pulled pork, too! (It’s all good!) Fries are really large portions so plan to share.
This is a cool museum located in the City Market/River Market area. A ton of cool artifacts and history!
Take a tour, visit the Beer Hall, have some beers, play some beers...I've had too many beers...pick up some merch!
A new observation wheel in KC. Check out Pennway Putt mini-golf located in the same location.
