Back in the year 2013, both Luis and Shelby were working at Sixflags New England. This is where they first met. At first, Shelby was very hesitant in giving Luis a chance and Luis proved to be very persistant. After the intial meeting Shelby was off for a month and Luis did not see him and was beginning to worry that he lost his chance with him. That was until Shelby's friend gave Luis his number and from that point on, they continued to talk until Sept 21st 2013, when they finally made it official! Since then, they have gone through things together and separately and no matter what has happened in life, they have always come back to each other. Their relationship continued for years with a slight break, but always keeping each other in mind. In February 2022, Luis and Shelby were on a trip to Puerto Rico. During this trip, Shelby would finally decide to propose (with a little encouragement and support from our friends). On the eventful day, it started with them ziplining through El Yunque rainforest! Shelby was extremely nervous that day and Luis chalked it up to anxiety over doing something new for the first time. The Ziplining adventure was amazing and beautiful but why stop there. They then headed into El Yunque and decided to go hiking throughout the rainforest. At one part of the hiking they encountered some waterfalls. They hiked up 3 different waterfalls before settling on a smaller more secluded waterfall. It was here where Shelby decieved Luis, and as Luis was moving to make way for shelby to go down, he was distracted with the waterfalls and the amazing scenery of his home country and being in the rainforest. Once Luis turned around, he just sees Shelby down on one Knee and asking for his hand in marriage. Finally after 9 Years, Shelby has finally asked the question and Luis of course said Yes!! This was followed by an embrace of eachother( and Shelby almost falling into the water. No seriously. The video cuts out right after he almost falls in the water!) In the end, these two are so happy with eachother and are so happy to finally have this day come! Some may say its a long time coming but sometimes, why put a rush on things? They love eachother unconditionally, and they know that when the time is right they will take the next step and the next step is here!
