During out wedding weekend the Big E, one of the country's largest county fairs will be in town and on its final weekend of operation for this year. The Big E is renowned for its diverse attractions, including state pavilions from all 6 New England (CT, VT, NH, MA, ME, and RI) states showcasing their food and culture, a massive midway, live entertainment, agricultural exhibits, parades, and delicious fair food. (Each state building on the Big E grounds is owned by that state, so if you haven't checked any New England states off your bucket list, you can technically do so in one area! The Big E attendance rivals that of some of the biggest fairs nationwide, drawing over a million visitors during its 17-day run each September. This is 100% a must see especially if you're looking for activities to do before our big day!

**This event can get quite crowded quickly on the weekends with traffic backing up for miles, if you would like to brave this event during the final weekend, we suggest arriving early, finding parking on a side street or along the side and walking in. Cash is usually only accepted however venmo is now being used. If you do want to go, I suggest going on Friday Morning and Early Afternoon as by late, it WILL be a mad house. Rush hour traffic in downtown Springfield is bad until about 630p.**

Hike Mount Tom State Reservation

Nestled North of Newport, RI settle your inner child by taking a 6 mile round trip on refurbished railroads, taking in the scenery of Narragansett Bay and if you time it right, you may get that sunset ride along the water!

Two Routes to Choose:

Northern Ramble

Enjoy a leisurely 6-mile expedition along the coastal railway of Aquidneck Island with views only visible from the unique perspective of the railroad. The Northern Ramble traverses private waterfront estates, 2 golf courses, coastal woodland, the Newport Preservation Society Topiary Gardens and the Audubon Society Nature Preserve.

**Please Note: There is no halfway picnic point in this tour except at the ticket office Depot which you can use prior or after your tour. (The Southern Circuit Tour provides the private picnic area on the water)**

**Northern Ramble tours are a ONE WAY railbike tour WITH a shuttle bus.**

Southern Circuit

The Southern Circuit is a 6 mile round trip (3 miles out, 3 miles back) between Portsmouth Grove Station and Bayside Station, our exclusive waterfront picnic area. During your experience on the rails, you will traverse through the coastal woodlands of Aquidneck Island before a brief stop at Bayside Station, which boasts incredible water views over Narragansett Bay.

Bring a small cooler with snacks and drinks to enjoy at our private bayside picnic area as you watch the boats go by on the bay, before riding back to the station.
