What should I wear to the wedding?
We encourage semi - formal to formal attire for the ceremony and reception. Think elegant, classy, and chic, but fun, relaxed and comfortable. Early Autumn in the Connecticut Valley can still very much feel like late summer. Feel free to embrace your personal style while keeping the semi-formal/formal dress code.
Can I bring a plus-one?
Please refer to your invitation for specific details about your RSVP. If your invitation includes a plus-one, we encourage you to bring a guest to share in our special day! Please note that we have a set number of guests and seats and we cannot accommodate any extras or tag-alongs to the wedding. While we want to celebrate with everyone, we must abide by the rules that have been given to us by the venue. So please, no surprise guests other than your plus one.
Where should I park?
There will be plenty of parking available at Union Station. Look for signs to direct you to the parking lot. We are working with the venue at this time to see if we can get a shuttle from the hotel to the event. Please check back periodically for updates on this situation. We will have a definitive answer soon!
What time should we arrive?
The ceremony will begin promptly at 4:00p. Please arrive at least 30 minutes early to find your seat and get settled. We will have an open bar AFTER the ceremony, during cocktail hour. Once again as the date arrives closer, more information will become available here, so please check back frequently. We want everyone to enjoy every moment of the celebration!
Will there be a reception?
Absolutely! Both grooms come from families that love to get down to music, so, after the ceremony, join us for a fun-filled reception with dinner, drinks, dancing, and lots of celebration.
Can I take photos during the ceremony?
We ask that guests refrain from taking photos during the ceremony to ensure that our photographer captures the best moments. We’ll have plenty of opportunities for photos during the reception! (Yes, this means you too mom and dad. - Shelby)
Is there a registry?
Yes! We’ve created a wedding registry that should be on this website. Click the tab where it says "Registry" and you will find gifts we’ll cherish for years to come. Your presence at our wedding is the greatest gift, but if you’d like to give something extra, we would be eternally grateful!
What food will be served, will there be a vegan or vegetarian option?
Please check back to this website or check your invitations for more information. More information will be available as it is released.
Where are the best places to stay?
We’ve put together a list of nearby hotels that we recommend for your convenience. Please check our accommodations page for more details. For now, we are setting up blocks at two or three area hotels. Most likely they will be:
FAIRFIELD INN of NORTHAMPTON, MASS.,
HAMPTON INN of HADLEY, MASS.,
and possibly
HOTEL NORTHAMPTON (Historic hotel in the heart of downtown Northampton turning 100 in 2027!)
What should I do if I have special needs or requests?
We are all about inclusivity and ensuring all guests are taken care of and their needs are fulfilled. Afterall, we both were in the hospitality industry for a short time, it is in our nature to care for others while hosting a party or event. If you have any special needs or requests, PLEASE DO NOT HESITATE to let us know and we will do our absolute best to accommodate anything you need.
Is there an after-party?
Yes. After the reception winds down, we’ll be heading downstairs to the Tunnel Bar for some fun and celebration into the night. Everyone is invited to join us for the after-party to keep the festivities going! **(A warning in advance however, it is a Sunday night. Please keep in mind if you have to travel or work the following day. We do not write work notes for you, LOL, so if you would like to go crazy and not work the following day, I suggest you plan accordingly.)**
Can I bring my drinks with me to my hotel if I don't finish it?
NO, and this is a FIRM NO. NO EXCEPTIONS. The venue has made this VERY clear to us. This is because alcohol sold for on-premises consumption in Massachusetts (such as in bars, restaurants, or event venues, such as Union Station/Roosevelt Balltroom) cannot be removed from the premises. This means that even if you've purchased alcohol to consume at the venue, it cannot be taken with you when you leave. This regulation is designed to control alcohol consumption in public spaces and ensure that it is only consumed in designated areas where it's allowed. If you are seen walking off premises with any alcoholic beverage at anytime, Union Station and Roosevelt room has the right to remove you from the event. Luis and myself are also strict with this because we want everyone to have a good time while also ensuring the venue can serve alcohol during other events in the future.
Can I take public transportation to the venue?
Yes, Union Station in Northampton is actually an active train station and the Vermonter services this station. You can easily reach the venue from there by accessing the PVTA website for bus schedules or going online to Amtrak.com to see when trains will be going to Northampton.
What if I do not feel comfortable driving after the reception?
First, thank you for being a responsible party goer! Second, we are working on accomdating a shuttle service to the the two hotels in the area. If this is no longer an option, the PVTA runs at night but until a certain hour. If you are in need of a ride, Valley Transportation or any other ride share company will come assist you. If you are staying at the Fairfield Inn, it is about a 10-15 min walk while Hotel Northampton is a 5-10min walk. (Although there are sidewalks all the way to, Hampton Inn is a 45-60 min walk so it is not recommended you do this.)
How do I get to the venue from the nearest airport or train station?
The two closest airports to the venue are Bradley International Airport in Windsor Locks, CT (North of Hartford) or Boston Logan International Airport in Boston. You can also use T.F. Greene Airport in Rhode Island or NYC airports, though the commute from those would be longer. You can take a an Uber or Lyft directly to the venue or check our "Travel" section for other shuttle/rental car options and directions from the airport.
Coming from South:
Northampton is directly off I-91 at Exit 23, which is a direct shot from Bradley International Airport. From Boston Logan, you would take I-90 to I-91 and take Exit 23 to downtown Northampton.
