Black Tie Optional is our way of saying, "Let's get fancy!" While we'd prefer to see gents rock a sharp tuxedo, a dark suit with all the fancy trimmings works too. Think white dress shirt, snazzy black tie/bowtie, and those sleek black shoes. Ladies, we know it's summer so feel free to dazzle in anything from a chic cocktail dress with some glam accessories to a floor length seasonal gown. The idea is to keep it classy and elegant, but don't be afraid to add your personal flair. We want everyone to feel confident and appropriately dressed for our big day!

Transportation will be provided to and from the ceremony/reception and will operate throughout the evening. Transportation will pick up at 200 Main (by the pool just past the lobby entrance) and 16 Church Street behind the Old Edwards Inn (near the Spa and Hummingbird Lounge) in downtown Highlands which is within walking distance of any accommodations in the downtown area. Pick-up begins at 4:30PM at both locations and will run continuous loops until guests are at the event for the 5:30PM ceremony start. Departures will be available from 9:00PM to 11:00PM and will run on continuous loops from the Farm back to 200 Main and 16 Church Street. Please note, Uber, Lyft, and alike are not available in the small town of Highlands, NC. Parking is also available if you choose to drive.

Highlands is a small town that books up fast, so we recommend booking your accommodations well in advance. Many Airbnb's & rentals are available now for you to book, while others will open up for booking 3-6 months in advance. We recommend staying as close to downtown Highlands as possible.

Absolutely! Just keep in mind that mountain roads are winding with many switchbacks, which can make driving slower and more challenging, especially at night. For the best experience, we recommend staying in or near Highlands to fully enjoy the mountain weekend without spending too much time on the road. Your safety and enjoyment are our top priorities!

The weather in Highlands in August averages high - 80 degrees and low - mid 60’s. It is one of the most popular months of the year for visitors.

The ceremony will be held indoors, cocktail hour will be held either in an open outdoor area on grass or under a covered outdoor area (weather permitting), and the reception will be held indoors. Ladies we suggest wearing a block heel as we're planned to be on grass for the cocktail hour :)
