PLEASE PRINT THESE DIRECTIONS, AS CELL SERVICE AND GPS AVAILABILITY ARE LIMITED NEAR THE LAKE.
NOTE: A portion of the road on the north end of Brant Lake (pictured below) will be closed on the week of our ceremony. We recommend that all travelers take the following route.
From Albany Airport to I-87 Exit 25
· Exit the airport through the access road and turn left onto NY-155 E (Peter J Dalessondro Blvd.)
· Take the road for approximately two miles and go UNDER the overpass. Use the left lane to turn left onto I-87 N and merge onto the interstate.
· Take I-87 N for approximately 70 miles and take Exit 25 for NY-8 toward Chestertown / Hague
From I-87 Exit 25 To 33 Horicon Birches Rd.
· At the stop sign at the end of the Exit 25 ramp, turn right onto NY-8 N
· Take NY-8 N for 2.5 Miles. (On the route, you will cross the Schroon River Bridge and the Brant Lake Mill Pond will be on your left)
· Veer left onto Palisades Road (pictured here). There is a blind curve from oncoming traffic, so be careful when approaching the turn.
IF YOU ACCIDENTALLY VEER RIGHT, TURN AROUND (Taking a right leads to the road closure at the north end of the lake)
· Take Palisades Road (you will cross a small bridge and pass the Brant Lake Marina). After about a mile, you will encounter the intersection below. We recommend going straight on Pease Hill Rd.
· Take Pease Hill Rd. for 2.4 miles until you reach a stop sign and T intersection. Turn Right onto Dorset Rd.
· Take Dorset Rd. for 2.5 miles until you reach another stop sign and intersection. Turn Left onto Palisades Rd.
· Take Palisades Rd. for approximately 1 mile. Turn Right onto Horicon Birches Rd.
· When you reach the fork in the road with the mailboxes and signs, turn right and continue for .3 miles.
· The destination, 33 Horicon Birches, will be on your right after you go over the hill. Please find parking on the street.
Because the lake house is about an hour and a half from the Albany International Airport, several hotel options can be found along the way. We recommend looking around Queensbury, Glens Falls, Warrensburg, Lake George, Loon Lake, and Brant Lake. Hotels, Motels, Cottages/Cabins, and Airbnb's are available. We recommend the following locations to either call or visit their websites for bookings. Prices and availability may vary. Please keep in mind we are in the Adirondack Mountain area and traditional hotel lodging is sparse.
The ALB airport is the closest airport to Brant Lake at approximately 1.5 hours away. With only one terminal, it is smaller than larger airports and does not have as many direct flights depending on your location.
For lower cost points and more direct flights, consider JFK, LaGuardia and Newark airports. However, please be aware that NYC-based airports are approximately 3.5 hours from Brant Lake. The lake house is in the Adirondack Mountains, so travel by car will be required from the airport and rideshare/Taxi services are unavailable.
