Marissa and Weston grew up just 15 minutes apart, living their own lives in their small towns. Over the years, they attended the same events without realizing it, from games and parties to graduations. If you ask either of them about a past event, chances are, both were there and remember it well.

In the summer of 2021, Weston and Marissa started hanging out in the same areas again, just like before. Their frequent interactions led to numerous conversations and late nights, with credit possibly owed to Weston's company, which was working near Marissa's house and around the lake that summer.

Their late-night conversations continued through the loss of Marissa's stepfather, Larry, a time when many new relationships tend to falter. Weston showed his support by staying with her during this difficult period.

During a turbulent time, Weston proved to be Marissa's rock, demonstrating that their connection was more than just a summer fling. It took Weston six months of asking before Marissa finally agreed to be his girlfriend – which, if you know Marissa, shouldn't come as a shock.

After all these years of running parallel and sharing the same stories from different perspectives, they are now creating new stories and experiences together, eagerly looking forward to many more!

Marissa has spent a great deal of her life traveling all over the United States and other countries. Her mother encouraged her to travel at every opportunity possible. This love of travel was something Marissa looked for in a future husband.

In a small town, not many people are interested in traveling the world because they are comfortable where they are.

After a few months of asking, Marissa convinced Weston to get his passport so they could go on their very first trip together to Mexico. That one trip was all it took to get Weston excited about traveling more. Mexico was where Weston proposed to Marissa, and it's only fitting that it will be the place where they will become Mr. & Mrs. O'Beirne!

In January 2024, Marissa and Weston went on vacation to Mexico, the same resort where they are planning to get married. Despite Weston and Tami's attempts to set up different scenarios for the proposal, none of them worked out. Weston became stressed and frustrated, even jokingly asking Marissa if she would be okay with a drunk proposal or a proposal while playing golf, to which Marissa expressed her disapproval.

They spent most of the day golfing 18 holes with friends and family, and then ended the night at the nice Italian restaurant at the golf course. It was there that Weston finally decided to propose. On the way to the restaurant, the golf cart driver misunderstood their plan, resulting in unplanned stops and delays, which is now seen as a funny memory.

Finally arriving at the restaurant, Weston took Marissa to the grass, mentioning the thing in his pocket that had been stressing him out all day. He then got down on one knee and asked, "Marissa Marie, will you marry me?" Marissa, shocked and excited, said "Yes!"

Looking back, they are grateful that Weston didn't let the chaotic circumstances deter him from making the proposal happen. And now, they look forward to the adventure of Marissa becoming an O'Beirne.

Marissa got Mr. Finneus in the spring of 2021 without realizing she would be moving back home. Finneus is Marissa's 3-year-old Shar Pei who keeps her on her toes.

In the summer of 2021, right before Marissa and Weston started talking and hanging out, Weston had been at Marissa's for a get-together and met Finneus. He took Finneus on a mile walk that night.

After their walk, Weston found Marissa to tell her he had taken Finn for a walk if she had been looking for him. One of the many walks and adventures to come.

Finneus has become Weston's boy more and more over the years.
