FRIDAY, AUG 30th OPTIONAL ACTIVITY:
RIVER BOAT ARCHITECTURE TOUR ABOARD
CHICAGO'S FIRST LADY
WHEN: FRI, AUG 30
TIME: 7:00 PM
We thought it would be fun to coordinate a Chicago River Boat Architecture Tour for anyone interested on Friday, Aug 30. I HIGHLY recommend this activity. I tried to get discounted group rate tickets but those are not available for the holiday weekend. So sorry! I also did not want to arrange a private tour as that would require too much of a monetary commitment up front. Instead, we decided to just choose a tour date and time that we think would be most convenient for the most people and you can purchase your own tickets.
FAQ:
1. When should I buy the tickets if I'm interested?
ASAP. These tickets sell very fast on holiday weekends. Choose the 7:00 PM tour on Friday, Aug 30th:

2.Who can go?
Anyone who is interested! (not reserved for wedding guests)
3. When is it?
The time and date we chose is Friday, Aug 30th at 7:00 pm aboard Chicago's First Lady
The tour lasts 90 minutes (the time goes fast!)
4. How do I reserve my spot/buy tickets?

5. Will we be able to sit together?
Likely, yes. There are two levels of tickets (priority boarding or regular boarding). I don't think the priority boarding is necessary but if you like to get an "A" boarding group,
then choose the priority ticket. For both boarding groups, the seats are guaranteed to be outside for the best views (but there are some indoor seats too if you prefer). Again, you do not need to purchase the higher priced tickets to get outdoor seats on the boat (outdoor seating is guaranteed for all tickets) There are snacks and drinks for sale.
6. Is there anything else I should do?
If you decide to purchase tickets, email/text Lora or Kathy so we can make a list of everyone going. That way, if we need to coordinate walking or ubering over together or any other info about the tour, we'll have all the "river boaters" on one list.
7. What about dinner that night?
There is no dinner on the cruise. You'd need to eat dinner before or after. If you decide to eat dinner before, please leave enough time to walk to the river boat docking area which is kind of "out of the way". It does not take a long time but everything in Chicago (driving and walking) should be planned for and takes longer than you think it will. There are lots of restaurants in this area so google: "best restaurants near the Chicago River Boat tours or something like that."
