Things to Do, Eat & See

In Glasgow

Places to Eat and Drink

The Bothy - Restaurant

A great choice for folks looking to try Scottish food

Ox and Finch - Restaurant

Brough to you by the same folks behind Matt and Rebecca's favorite restaurant in Glasgow, Ka Pao, Ox and Finch is a testament to the idea that good things come in small packages (or on small plates!)

Singl End - Brunch, Lunch + Bites

For Brunch, Singl end is always a good spot. Good luck passing the homemade cakes without getting one on your way out!

Cafe Strange Brew - Brunch, Lunch and Bites

Another favorite brunch spot, the eggs benedict is a must!

The Crescent - Bar

Rebecca and Susan, the Maid of Honor, have done the legwork on this and can confirm The Crescent has the best espresso martinis in Glasgow!

WEST - Brewery

For those of you more fond of beer, WEST is a great shout. In the heart of Glasgow Green, it also offers really good food.

--

Glasgow has a robust and impressive coffee scene for a small city. Some local roasteries that we love:

Gordon St Coffee

The Steamie

Papercup

Tinderbox

Grain & Grind

Things to Do and See

Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum

Beautiful museum with works by Monet, Gauguin and Renoir. Further highlights are Rembrandt's 'Man in Armour', 'Christ and the Adulteress' by Titian and Salvador Dali's 'Christ of St John of the Cross'

NQ64 Arcade

Go enjoy some healthy competition in this retro arcade. Drown your sorrows after yet another embarrassing loss with some themed cocktails + local brews.

The Botanic Gardens

Just looking for a nice place to walk, decompress and enjoy a coffee? The Botanic Gardens is the place for you. Definitely stop in at the Kibble Palace with its collection of tree ferns and koi carp.

At Loch Lomond

Food + Drink

St Mocha - Cafe

First place Matt and Rebecca went after getting engaged. Great coffee, cakes and ice cream.

Duck Bay Hotel - Lunch/Dinner

A firm favorite of Matt and Rebecca during the wedding planning process. We highly recommend the bang bang cauliflower and the fish & chips.

Inchmurrin - Restaurant and Bar

Accessible only by boat, this gem offers great food for those of you willing to travel a little further for your lunch. Boturich Castle, our wedding venue, is visible from here.

Things to Do

Try and Spot a Red Squirrel!

Red Squirrels are considered one of Scotland's most beloved animals. They are sadly endangered and becoming harder to see in the wild. Loch Lomond is home to the Red Squirrel Trail which offers people the chance to see these fluffy tailed icons in the wild. Trail starts at Balmaha, and stop at St. Mocha along the way to pick up a coffee for the walk.

Get in a round of Golf

Scotland is the home of golf, and consequently we have a lot of golf courses. Loch Lomond has a few in the area, most notably The Carrick Golf Course at Cameron House

Further Afield

We know many of you are planning to extend your time in Scotland. Some places you might want to visit (with a car or by train) include:

- St Andrews

- Edinburgh

- Balmoral

- Glen Coe
