Matt and Claire first met in early 2019 (exact date still debated). They had been talking and agreed to go out to dinner on a Friday night. While Claire really wanted to stay home in her PJs and eat pasta, and Matt really wanted to relax with Chinese food and movies after a long week, they both showed up for the date. Looking back, they're very glad they did!

One of Claire and Matt's first road trips was to Louisville, Kentucky. They stayed at the Seelbach Hotel, toured the Louisville Slugger Museum, saw Churchill Downs, and enjoyed tours and tastings at both Buffalo Trace and Woodford Reserve distilleries.

Greenville, South Carolina is one of Claire's favorite places, and she enjoyed taking a day trip to show Matt Downtown Greenville and Furman University.

Matt and Claire headed to Charleston, South Carolina to spend 4th of July with Matt's parents, brother, and sister-in-law.

Claire and Matt enjoyed a long weekend in Washington, D.C. to spend time with Ben, Claire's brother. The group did a lot of walking, eating, and monument-viewing.

Both Claire and Matt enjoy outdoor activities, and they explored a local trail for a hike.

The couple took a trip to Chicago, Illinois to visit Claire's uncle and see iconic attractions. They enjoyed touring the "Bean," taking an architectural tour via boat, visiting the zoo, and eating lots of good food!

Go 'Dins! It was such a fun weekend at Furman celebrating Homecoming with Claire's college roommates and their spouses.

Matt's dad and brother visited for the weekend. In between putting new backsplash up in the kitchen, everyone found time for a little axe throwing!

Claire and Matt headed up to Asheville, North Carolina and Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. to celebrate Claire's birthday.

Matt and Claire started a tradition where they cut down their own Christmas tree in Boone, North Carolina. Every year, they spend the weekend in a cabin with one of Matt's best friends and his family.

The couple spent their first Christmas together with Matt's family in Charleston, South Carolina. It was fun spending the week soaking up the Christmas spirit.

Monster trucks came to Charlotte, and Claire and Matt loved seeing the show at the Spectrum Center. They're glad they didn't forget their earplugs . . . Those trucks are loud!

The couple volunteered with Habitat for Humanity and got to help build a house for a Charlotte family in need.

Just as COVID-19 was becoming prominent in the U.S., Claire moved in with Matt into his condo in Uptown Charlotte.

After looking for several months, Claire and Matt closed on a house together in Clover, South Carolina! They fell in love with the private community on Lake Wylie and couldn't wait to be homeowners!

Excited for a safe get-away amidst COVID-19, Claire and Matt headed to a private resort in Orlando, Florida with Matt's dad, stepmother, and his stepmom's granddaughters. It was so nice to spend time in the sun!

Surprise! Matt proposed to Claire while visiting Claire's family in Ohio and Michigan for Thanksgiving. Matt found the perfect gazebo to use while walking in Greenfield Village.

Christmas is Matt's favorite holiday, and the couple was excited to host their first Christmas at their new home. Matt's parents, grandfather, and Claire's brother, Ben, all celebrated together at 21 Woodvine Lane.

Matt and Claire are looking forward to the future, which is sure to hold many more fun adventures. Thank you for celebrating our journey with us!
