Check out San Francisco! There’s a ton of activities throughout the city including the dogs’ personal favorite, Chrissy Field, where you can get a great view of the Golden Gate Bridge. Here are some other activities in San Francisco we recommend:

- Golden Gate Park: Spend time in this expansive park, which includes attractions like the California Academy of Sciences, the de Young Museum, and the Japanese Tea Garden.
- Ghirardelli Square: Indulge in chocolate, ice cream and the most amazing Irish coffee at this historic square.
- Twin Peaks: Drive or hike to the top of Twin Peaks for panoramic views of the city.
- Lands End: Hike along the Lands End Trail for breathtaking coastal scenery.
- Ferry Building Marketplace: Sample gourmet foods and artisanal products at the Ferry Buildings farmers market and shops.

There’s a ton of great hiking throughout the area. A few local favorites include:
- Wildcat Canyon Regional Park: This park, located a mile from our own house, offers a variety of hiking trails with panoramic views of the San Francisco Bay and the surrounding hills. The Nimitz Way Trail is a popular choice for its accessibility and stunning vistas.
- Tilden Regional Park: Just a short drive away in Berkeley, Tilden Park has numerous trails suitable for hikers of all levels. The Jewel Lake Trail and the Nimitz Way Trail are both favorites, offering beautiful natural scenery.
- Point Pinole Regional Shoreline: Located in nearby Richmond, this park features a network of trails along the shoreline, offering views of the bay, marshlands, and wildlife. The Point Pinole Regional Trail is a popular option.
- Redwood Regional Park: Located a bit farther away in Oakland, this park is known for its towering redwood trees. The French Trail and Stream Trail are great choices for exploring the redwood forest.
- Grizzly Peak: This is a scenic drive with various pull-offs for hiking and breathtaking views of the San Francisco Bay and the East Bay hills. Its a popular spot for sunset and sunrise hikes.
- Sibley Volcanic Regional Preserve: Located in the Oakland Hills, Sibley Preserve has unique geological features, including extinct volcanoes. The Round Top Loop Trail offers an interesting hike with views of the crater.
- Mount Tamalpais State Park: A bit farther north in Marin County, Mount Tamalpais offers a variety of trails and stunning views of the Bay Area. The Matt Davis Trail and Steep Ravine Trail are popular choices.
If you’re looking for local things to do, we highly recommend checking out our city, Richmond! While not as well known as some of the other amazing cities in the area, there’s a ton of cool things to do including:
- Point Isabel Regional Shoreline: Explore the Point Isabel Regional Shoreline, a beautiful park with walking trails and a dog-friendly beach. This is arguably the best view of the Golden Gate Bridge!
- Riggers Loft Wine Company-R&B Cellars: Try some different wines and ciders while seeing some beautiful San Francisco views at Riggers Loft Wine Company-R&B Cellars.
- San Francisco Bay Trail: Take a scenic drive along the San Francisco Bay Trail for stunning views of the Bay Area.
- Wildcat Canyon Regional Park: Go bird-watching and hiking in the Wildcat Canyon Regional Park.
- Miller/Knox Regional Shoreline: Enjoy the outdoors at Miller/Knox Regional Shoreline, which offers picnicking, hiking, and bay views.
