Our First Date

Our story started right here in Chicago! Meg had moved to Chicago in June 2019 and Mike had already been here for one year in Evanston. Our first date was held at the Hotel Zachary bar in Wrigleyville where, of course, basketball was the subject of conversation. The two hour long conversation flew by.

Becoming official!

Meg was onto an adventure of a lifetime with her parents and Bridesmaid Sarah to South America and Antartica and Mike wanted to be sure that things were clear before she headed out! A cute little message before takeoff to Buenos Aires cemented them as a couple!

The Pandemic 😵‍💫

Our true love story began much like many others who started dating in 2019 or early 2020, with a delightful lockdown in March 2020. Meg and Mike spent the first three months of the pandemic here in Chicago isolating and eventually made it back to our families in June of 2020. This is when we started our joint love of crossword puzzles and long walks.

We were so fortunate to be able to spend quality time with both of our families through out the remainder of 2020. Meg took a new job in December 2020 that called for another move all the way to Connecticut. A few short months later, Mike moved in with Meg in Norwalk.

In October of 2021, Mike accepted a role with the Windy City Bulls (G League affiliate of the Chicago Bulls) which brought us back to where it all started! Meg took a new job working remotely, and the two of them moved to Gold Coast. They were so excited to be back with friends, and in the city that is so special to their story.

Our engagement

In April of 2023, Mike asked Meg to marry him on State Street in the Gold Coast neighborhood just a few short blocks away from where they lived together after moving back to Chicago. To make the moment even sweeter, Mike made sure that Meg's parents were there to surprise her at dinner. It could not have been a more perfect moment in their love story.
