Overview

We have in mind a roughly three-day shindig, which breaks out into the main wedding day (Friday, March 14th), the day before (Thursday, March 13th), and the day after the wedding (Saturday, March 15th). We would love for you to join us for all three days!

More details can be found below, but—in addition to the wedding itself—additional goings-on are (1) welcome drinks at a nearby venue (TBD) on Thursday evening and (2) a light brunch/reconvening late Saturday morning, at an outdoor location with fresh air—and lots of coffee!

Rehearsal Dinner

Separate event for wedding party folks. We'd love to have invited everyone! Invited guests have access to details.

Welcome Drinks (8-11p)

Open to all! This will take place 8-11pm on Thursday, March 13th—the evening before the wedding. At Bluejacket Brewery (300 Tingey St SE #180, Washington, DC 20003)—a stone's throw from the venue/hotels.

We hope you all can make it, come say hi, mingle, and get to know some folks you'll be seeing around the wedding weekend! Tab is comped; menu will consist of drinks and light snacks.

[last-minute addition] Given the groom's borderline crippling addiction to basketball in all of its forms, there will be a mini basketball tournament scheduled for 9:30 on March 14, to take place at the New York Avenue Playground (100 N Street NW, Washington, DC 2001). Raffle prizes include the basketballs we'll be playing with, possibly an old Warriors poster or two, and eternal bragging rights. Bring your hoopin' shoes.

Wedding! Arrive for the ceremony at 5:30p. Reception afterwards. Everything going down at District Winery.

There will be a shuttle from (prior to the wedding) and to (after the wedding) the Hampton Inn, if that makes your travels any more convenient. Shuttle leaves for the wedding venue at 4:45 p.m.

After-Wedding Tour Around the National Mall + Memorials

[record scratch] We're remixing the Saturday plan given that we'll be spending Wednesday thru Friday eating and drinking, and—after all—there's more to life than that!

Instead of brunch, we will be meeting up at the Capitol at 9:45 a.m. to commence a walking tour of the National Mall and the main monuments/memorials: the Washington Monument, the MLK memorial, the FDR memorial, and the Thomas Jefferson memorial, ending up back at the Washington Monument. The latter portion of the tour will be taking place around the Tidal Basin, which features the best cherry blossom views in D.C.—not to mention we'll be about a week out from ~*~*peak bloom*~*~.

Tour is roughly 4 miles all together, paced for comfort and not for speed, and folks are welcome to come and go as they please. Coffee and pastries/donuts will be provided to all revelers at the beginning of the tour.
