Megan and Zach met in the summer of 2016. Megan had just graduated high school, while Zach was heading into his senior year. They had a chance meeting at a close friend’s graduation party; Zach thought Megan was cute, and Megan thought Zach was cute even though his face happened to be very swollen from wisdom tooth removal. Thus ensued many days of talking and talking and talking. Eventually, Zach asked Megan on their first date. They went to the Mendon Twin Drive In to see a double feature, and they were both smitten.

That fall, Megan began to attend Salve Regina University’s nursing program. Zach would drive to Newport every weekend to visit her during her first year, rain, snow, or shine. The following year, Zach began to attend Wentworth Institute of Technology’s Computer Science program. Megan and Zach endured 5 years of a long distance relationship as they both worked to secure their futures.

In the summer of 2020, Megan graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Nursing, passed her nursing boards, and began to work as a Registered Nurse at Saint Luke's Hospital. After Zach finished his Bachelors in Computer Science in 2021, they moved into their first apartment together. Zach began work as a Software Engineer at a biomedical company. They soon after adopted their first fur child, Charlie, and a year later, gave him a fur sister, Maddy.

Zach has continued his career as a Software Engineer, while Megan started a dream nursing career on a maternity unit, where she works on the Mother Baby unit and in the Special Care Nursery. Megan and Zach have enjoyed spending their days together watching movies and tv shows (especially anything Star Wars related), playing video games, going out for breakfast, listening to music, completing artistic projects, hiking, and spending time in Maine.

Zach proposed to Megan on September 24th, 2022 on a hike to the top of Mount Sabattus in Lovell, Maine. They knew immediately that they wanted to get married at the Old Saco Inn in Fryeburg, Maine, as it is a beautiful, hospitable location, and Maine serves as a special place in their relationship. They are looking forward to finally getting married surrounded by their close friends and family after, what will be, 8 long years of knowing that they were each other’s forever.
