Fryeburg sits on the border of Maine and New Hampshire, so there is much to see and do in the area! Here are some of our recommendations of our favorite things to do, places to see, and food to eat if you are looking to make the most out of the weekend up north!

Fryeburg

A quaint small town and home of the famous Fryeburg Fair!

Food:

Fair Grounds Coffee- A coffee shop in a converted old bank. Coffee, espresso, smoothies, and donuts.

The 302 West Smokehouse and Tavern- Barbecue, Tex Mex, Pasta, Sandwiches, Burgers; a menu with a variety of options!

Lovell

Hike the Mount Sabattus trail in Lovell, where the trail takes you to an overlook for stunning views of the lakes and mountains in the area. This is the spot where we got engaged, so if you’re looking for the full wedding experience, this is a must see! The trail is a full loop, which is largely uphill; going left will take you up a steep and challenging path, while going right offers a slightly easier path.

Sweden

Visit the Medeiros family cabin, nestled on the beautiful and quaint Webber Pond.

North Conway

A classic vacation spot for the Medeiros family, North Conway is a scenic mountain town that offers great shopping and restaurants. The town has been built up tremendously throughout the years, so it feels like a slice of civilization amongst the other more rural communities!

Shopping:

Zeb's General Store - A North Conway staple, this nostalgic general store has something for everyone! Baking goods, snacks, soaps, souvenirs, home decor, toys, and a huge candy counter that’s sells candy by the pound!

The Penguin- An eclectic but charming store with a variety of home goods, toys, and novelty items.

Poppy and Lane- Megan's favorite, a darling bohemian boutique specializing in home goods and trinkets.

Settlers Green - An outdoor outlet shopping center, similar to the Wrentham Village Premium Outlets.

White Birch Books- A darling book store for the book lovers!

Four Your Paws Only- The best store if you are looking for a souvenir for your furry friend! Charlie and Maddy approved!

The Christmas Loft- A little niche and campy but a must see! Walk through an indoor Christmas village full of ornaments and Christmas decor!

Food:

The Met Coffeehouse - A delicious coffee house that supports local artists; their specialty lattes are favorites of ours! They offer coffee, baked goods, and have a small lunch menu! They have two locations, in Settlers Green and in the center of town, near Zeb's.

Frontside Coffee Roasters- Another great coffee shop! Highly recommend their bagel with avocado.

Peach's- A great classic breakfast place! Very quaint and homey. We had breakfast here the morning of our engagement!

Flatbread Pizza Company- A Medeiros family favorite, pizza made with local organic ingredients fired in front of you on a large hearth. Try the lemonade- it’s made with maple syrup as a sweetener (strange but it works!).

May Kelly's Cottage- A quaint restaurant specializing in delicious Irish food!

Luchador Tacos - Build your own tacos, bowls, and burritos, think Chipotle style! (But probably even better)

Bridgton

A lovely small town in Maine, with some shops, restaurants, and walking trails!

Activities:

The Magic Lantern- A charming small movie theater that shows a few movies on the weekends. They have a tavern inside where you can purchase food and drinks to bring into the theater.

Bridgton Walking Trails- Walking trails entrance located in a large parking lot behind Reny’s and the Magic Lantern.

Shopping:

Reny’s- A Maine Adventure! A classic (small) Maine department store with home goods, pantry needs, toys, and clothing, including brands like Carhartt and Timberlands!

Bridgton Books- A lovely bookstore to browse around in! Look out for the resident bookstore cat!

Corn Shop Trading Co.- A general store with various souvenirs and antiques!

Scout Home Finds- Antiques and home decor! (One of the many antique stores in town)

Food:

Beth’s Kitchen Cafe- A favorite breakfast spot of ours! Great coffee, tons of baked goods, and a menu of breakfast and lunch options! A great place to hang out and enjoy the vibes! Zach recommends the maple latte!

Sail Away Coffee Co. - An outdoor coffee stand you can either walk or drive up to. Classic coffee drinks, specialty lattes, and a small menu of breakfast foods.

The Campfire Grille- Delicious food in a family environment. Definitely not a fancy place, but the food does not disappoint; a family favorite! The buffalo chicken sandwich (or wrap) cannot be beat!

Queen’s Head Pub- A recent addition to town; great pub food, drinks, and dessert!

Standard Gastropub- Sandwiches, salads, and specials!

Bridgton House of Pizza- Classic pizza, burgers, sandwiches, gyros, subs, and seafood.

Elevation Sushi and Tacos- A strange combo, but it works!
