This is one of those drives that’ll make you pull over every few minutes just to take in the views. Chapman’s Peak Drive winds along cliffs with the ocean on one side and mountains on the other. It’s perfect if you’re in the mood for a scenic route and some fresh air. I’d recommend stopping at one of the lookouts—especially around sunset. It’s a really easy, relaxed way to see some of Cape Town’s natural beauty.

Kalk Bay

Kalk Bay is one of my favorite spots for a slower, more local experience. The main street is full of quirky shops, cafés, and galleries—perfect for wandering around without much of a plan. The harbor is still used by local fishermen, and it’s fun to watch them bring in the day’s catch. There are also some great spots for fresh seafood, and the vibe is super relaxed. If you want a break from the usual tourist spots, this is a great option.

Hout Bay

Hout Bay has a bit of everything—whether you’re looking to grab some fresh fish and chips by the water, hop on a boat to Seal Island, or visit the weekend market.
