The Morton Arboretum is a beautiful botanical garden and research center. Tickets are $12 for entry and there’s free parking on site.

Downtown Naperville is close by and has a wonderful 2 mile riverwalk. There’s also a multitude of restaurants and shops here as well.

Cantigny is the former 500-acre estate of Colonel Robert R. McCormick, long time editor of the Chicago Tribune. Cantigny was named after a small village in France, where Colonel McCormick commanded an artillery battalion in 1918, as a member of the U.S. Army’s First Division. The Battle of Cantigny was America’s first victory in World War I. Cantigny continues to offer outdoor recreation and history. There’s museums, golf, gardens and trails all located on the grounds. Tickets are $15 for entry.

One of our favorite breakfast spots! They are known for their pancakes. Melissa’s favorite is the lemon blueberry pancakes. Andrew’s go-to order is the chicken fried chicken skillet.

Andrew and Melissa celebrated their 2nd anniversary at the White Chocolate Grill. This is a great restaurant to enjoy a nice dinner.

Need to try a Chicago-style hot dog or Italian beef while you’re in town? Head over to Portillo’s. They’re also known for their chocolate cake shake if you’re looking for a sweet treat.
