Air:

Please book your air accommodations through Tracy for the best rates. If you prefer to use points or a companion pass, please book independently. After booking, kindly share your flight details with Tracy so she can arrange your hotel accommodations and transfers to the hotel.

Airport: You will fly in to Licenciado Gustavo Díaz Ordaz International Airport (PVR) which is about a 20-minute drive from the Riu Palace Pacifico.

Cost: The average airfare from Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP) to Puerto Vallarta (PVR) ranges from $600 to $800 per person.

Travel Tip: We recommend checking in and arriving at the airport at least 3 hours before your flight for international travel.

Airport Shuttle:

We suggest booking shuttle services through our travel agent, Tracy. Shuttle costs are included in your Riu room rate. While gratuities are covered by your all-inclusive package, tips for the transfer driver are not included. You can tip them separately if you’d like. Shared rides might involve waiting for other passengers. For a private transfer, Tracy can arrange it for an additional fee.

After landing and clearing customs in Mexico, bypass the airport vendors and head outside to find Amstar DMC, our group transportation company. Their staff will be in uniform and display the company name.

Mexico Travel Tips

Safety: Stick to well-known tourist areas and follow local advice on safe travel practices. Avoid displaying valuable items and be cautious when using ATMs. Take a picture of your passport and store it securely on your phone or in the cloud as a backup in case you lose the original.

Transportation: If you aren't using transportation we have provided for you or have not booked travel through Tracy, use reputable transportation services. For taxis, it’s often safer to have your hotel call one for you. In cities, ride-sharing apps like Uber can be convenient and safe.

Food and Water: Enjoy the local cuisine but be cautious with street food. Drink bottled water and avoid ice made from tap water to prevent stomach issues.

Health: Use insect repellent to protect against mosquito bites, especially in areas where mosquito-borne illnesses are common.
