Q + A

What should we expect for the weekend?

For all intents and purposes we are hosting a big camp out for our favorite people in the world. There just happens to be a ceremony in the midst of it. Think family reunion.. or that time your rented a cabin with your closest friends... or a nice backyard potluck. That's what we're going for here. So pack your tents, maybe a frisbee or two, some campfire hot dogs and a dish to share. We can't wait to see you on the farm :)

Where should I stay?

The farm where we are hosting the event allows for camping on site so if you feel comfortable bringing a tent and setting up, feel free. They also provide RV hook-ups (which you can rent from a local supplier for the weekend) and a couple of permanent small cabins (that have been reserved for family). The most popular option we've found is the chance to rent a "luxury tent" for the duration of the event. With prices starting around $300 for the weekend, the tents will be set up before you arrive and will be outfitted with beds and linens. Additionally, you can add on extra items such as spare beds and heaters. If you don't feel like roughing it there are a few local B&Bs and hotels to choose from which you're free to drive in from each day. There is more information on all of these options as well as links to booking websites in the "Travel" section of our website. If you have any questions - reach out directly to our planner, Emily emily@epratte.com.

Is there any way we can help?

In the spirit of family reunions and backyard get togethers we are hosting a pot luck for the reception so please feel encouraged to bring a dish close to your heart. We will be posting a sign up sheet closer to the event itself with more details. Aside from that if you have a board game, spare tent, corn hole board or anything of that nature that you’d care to loan out for the weekend it would be much appreciated!

Itinerary for the weekend!

Thursday: Meet & Greet for Early Arrivals

-We are opening the site up this night for anyone wishing to set up camp a little early, however, the wedding party will primarily be concerned with decorating and rehearsing for the following day so anyone arriving at this time will mostly be left to entertain themselves. Later that night we will host a bonfire and karaoke gathering at the pavilion for the early arrivals to get to know one another. Hot dogs and s’mores will be provided.

Friday: Wedding Day!

-The wedding itself isn’t until 6 but the site is open all day so feel free to arrive as early as you like to set up camp and get ready for the festivities. Personalized welcome packets will be provided upon arrival with information about camping, a detailed itinerary and a map of the site as well as any other information you may need to know about the weekend. Meals won’t be provided until the reception itself so please account for that in your plans.

As for the ceremony, it is planned to take place over the course of about half an hour outside in an exposed grassy area so keep that in mind when you’re dressing for the evening. The ceremony will be followed by cocktail hour at the pavilion while the wedding party takes photos and then we move into the potluck reception directly after! There will an open bar and a main course provided by the wedding party then dancing well into the night. Quiet(ish) hour starts around midnight.

Saturday: Thornfest 2024

-A day of music and revelry! Corn hole! Kickball! Paddleboarding! Oh my!

To start off the festivities there will be a breakfast provided at the pavilion. The Fix coffeehouse will be providing coffee and espresso drinks for guests along with bagels and pastries. We will also have multiple camp stoves set up on site so anyone wanting to cook up bacon, eggs or any other goodies can do so there.

As the day moves on there will be games to take part in, hikes you can follow and plenty of spaces to meet and enjoy yourselves in. For lunch a picnic sandwich buffet will be provided. The night will finish off with a little music festival featuring a number of local bands and a big ole chili dinner. Quiet(ish) hours start around midnight.

Sunday: Pack Up & Goodbyes

-The site closes at 11 on Sunday so everything must be packed up and moved out by then. At the pavilion we will be providing coffee, a leftover buffet and copious amounts of goodbye hugs.
