What will the weather be like this time of year?
Generally New York City sees a high in the mid 70s and a low in the mid 50s during May. Please make sure to check the weather closer to the date and pack accordingly.
Will the ceremony and reception be outdoors or indoors?
The ceremony and cocktail hour will be outside, weather permitting. The reception will be indoors.
What is the Dress Code?
The dress code is spring garden party! We welcome any colors outside of white, but we invite you to use this as an excuse to break out your favorite florals and spring colors! We've included some inspo photos below!
Am I allowed to bring a date?
Due to limited space, our wedding is RSVP only. All guests will be listed online when you visit our website. Please be sure to RSVP for both yourself and your guest if applicable. We will only be able to accommodate those listed in your RSVP options online.
What time should I arrive?
We ask that all guests arrive by 4:00PM and are seated by 4:15PM. The ceremony will begin promptly 4:30PM. Please give yourself a buffer as New York City traffic and public transit can be unpredictable.
How do I get to The Sanctuary?
There are plenty of ways to get to the venue, though we recommend public transportation as there is limited parking at and around the venue. From The Sanctuary's website:
Arrive onto Roosevelt Island by subway on the F train or take the aerial tramway from Manhattan to Roosevelt Island. You can also arrive by the Astoria Line ferry (catch it from Long Island City or lower Manhattan).
Once on Roosevelt Island, there is a free red Shuttle Bus that loops around the island. Catch it at the public transportation hub and take it to the Octagon stop (888 Main Street). The Sanctuary is a 3-minute walk toward the river. Walk through the small parking lot of the Octagon (you’ll walk by tennis courts and a baseball field on your left, Octagon on your right). Turn right at the stop sign and follow the road down toward the river to reach The Sanctuary around the corner on your left; it’s a dead-end road.
Instead of the Shuttle Bus, you can also walk along the beautiful Westside waterfront promenade park until you pass the pier that looks like a boat bow; The Sanctuary will be on the right. The walk is a leisurely 15 minutes.
Is there parking available near your wedding venue?
There is parking available near the venue! From The Sanctuary's website: The Sanctuary is tucked away on the northwest waterfront of Roosevelt Island, past the Octagon residential buildings. There is parking directly on site, with additional spots a 90 second walk from the venue. There is also the Motorgate parking garage on the island available for longer term parking.
What type of food will be served at your wedding?
For dinner we will be serving salmon and short rib, as well as an eggplant option for vegetarians. If you have any dietary restrictions that we should let the kitchen know about, please include that in your RSVP.
Do you have a room block for guests? Where do you recommend guest stay?
We do! We have room blocks with two hotels near the venue. Information about room blocks can be found on the Travel & Accommodations tab. That said, there are plenty of beautiful places to stay in the city if the rooms we have reserved do not work for you. Let us know if you have any questions as you look into hotels!
Are there other wedding events I can attend?
YES! We will be having a welcome party on Friday, May 9 at Greats of Craft in Long Island City from 7-10pm.
When is the RSVP deadline?
We ask that all RSVPs be submitted electronically by April 1 using the RSVP tab above.
I still have questions, what is the best way to contact you?
