It was the app designed to be deleted... yes we met on Hinge (aka a dating app for you old people).

Our first date was fully planned by Maxx who "read" a flyer about an Octoberfest that was happening that night in Old Town, Alexandria, VA. Maxx hasn't always been the strongest reader and got the dates of the Octoberfest wrong. We didn't discover this until we had been walking around Old Town for about 20 minutes. Good news is that Old Town is full of places to wet your whistle (Maxx's verbiage).

Over the course of the next few months we found ourselves inseparable. With Molly's lease coming to an end in DC, we decided that Maxx's 600 square foot studio apartment in Old Town would be perfect for the two of us. Turns out that living in Old Town was one of the best times of our lives.

After 7 years of being in the Navy, Maxx began his transition into civilian life starting with us packing our bags and road tripping the 24 hours to Colorado to start our new chapter.

While visiting Molly's family farm for Thanksgiving, Maxx asked Molly's parents for their permission to propose, stating that he had nothing planned out yet and it would be a few months before he asked her. Maxx lied. Unable to keep a secret from Molly, he asked her that night standing outside in the freezing cold. We decided to keep the news a secret for a few days so that we could truly enjoy this special moment between the two of us.

Shortly after, Maxx had accepted a contracting job overseas and we decided that it would be best to get married at the courthouse before he left. Luckily for us, both of our parents (and Molly's grandma), were able to attend the quick "ceremony". Ceremony = quick paper signing that our parents almost got kicked out of for talking too loud.

We always knew we wanted to have an intimate wedding and after a few months of searching for places, we found the perfect venue in Buena Vista, CO. We are looking forward to spending Labor Day Weekend celebrating with you all!
