Our Wedding

It was the app designed to be deleted... yes we met on Hinge (aka a dating app for you old people). Our first date was fully planned by Maxx who "read" a flyer about an Octoberfest that was happening that night in Old Town, Alexandria, VA. Maxx hasn't always been the strongest reader and got the dates of the Octoberfest wrong. We didn't discover this until we had been walking around Old Town for about 20 minutes. Good news is that Old Town is full of places to wet your whistle (Maxx's verbiage). Over the course of the next few months we found ourselves inseparable. With Molly's lease coming to an end in DC, we decided that Maxx's 600 square foot studio apartment in Old Town would be perfect for the two of us. Turns out that living in Old Town was one of the best times of our lives. After 7 years of being in the Navy, Maxx began his transition into civilian life starting with us packing our bags and road tripping the 24 hours to Colorado to start our new chapter. While visiting Molly's family farm for Thanksgiving, Maxx asked Molly's parents for their permission to propose, stating that he had nothing planned out yet and it would be a few months before he asked her. Maxx lied. Unable to keep a secret from Molly, he asked her that night standing outside in the freezing cold. We decided to keep the news a secret for a few days so that we could truly enjoy this special moment between the two of us. Shortly after, Maxx had accepted a contracting job overseas and we decided that it would be best to get married at the courthouse before he left. Luckily for us, both of our parents (and Molly's grandma), were able to attend the quick "ceremony". Ceremony = quick paper signing that our parents almost got kicked out of for talking too loud. We always knew we wanted to have an intimate wedding and after a few months of searching for places, we found the perfect venue in Buena Vista, CO. We are looking forward to spending Labor Day Weekend celebrating with you all!

Airports

For the guests flying in, due to the ranch being a bit far from the airports, you will need to rent a car for the trip. Please note that there is free parking on the ranch.

GROUND TRANSPORTATION

We are happy to share that we will be covering lodging accommodations for all our guests. We have the lodging reserved from Friday, August 30th, 2024 check-in at 4pm till Sunday, September 1st, 2024 check-out at 10:00am. You will either be staying in a cabin or in the main lodge in one of their "hotel style" rooms. Rooming arrangements will be assigned prior to your arrival. We are trying to keep families and friend groups in the same cabin. If you would like to view the cabins or the lodge rooms follow the link on the Home page to the Ranch's website.

Our group has exclusive use of the two natural fed hot spring swimming pools (97 degrees) and hot tubs.

Hot Spring Pools & Hot Tubs

There are many hiking options on and around the ranch: Chalk Cliffs Located at the top of the ranch and setting the wonderful backdrop for Deer Valley Ranch are the one-of-a-kind Chalk Cliffs. These cliffs are directly embedded into the side of Mount Princeton and are a wonderful hiking destination for guests of all ages. Legend has it that there are gold bars and other treasures located in the cervices, giving the cliffs an air of beauty and mystery, encouraging many guests to hike up and explore the lower reaches of the area. Though named the Chalk Cliffs, they are made of granite from which all other minerals have been leached, giving them a chalky texture and the ability to crumble when pressed. Mount Antero Of the two mountains that surround the ranch, Mount Antero is the most visible, with nearly every cabin on the property offering a spectacular and breathtaking view of the local 14er. Providing scenery that inspires paintings, Antero makes up the southern side of the valley, rising another six thousand feet above the ranch. Guests have the opportunity to scale the ridge that juts out from the mountain by horseback or hiking to reach Raspberry Gulch, situated on the eastern side of the mountain. The whole area offers spectacular sight-seeing through the valley and a peaceful area to escape into the wilderness. Mount Princeton Mount Princeton is one of the many local fourteen thousand-foot mountains, commonly referred to as 14ers. The mountain sets the expectation for arriving guests as it rises directly across from the main access road to the ranch, becoming the most prominent sight many guests will remember from their stay at Deer Valley Ranch. With the ranch located at the southern base of the mountain, guests will experience Mount Princeton in ways many others, both locals and tourists, are unable to. A multitude of trails extend across the side of the mountain, allowing our ranch guests to explore and adventure across Mount Princeton at their leisure.

Hiking

Our group has exclusive use of the sports courts on the ranch that includes two basketball hoops, and a full tennis, badminton, pickle ball, and volleyball net system.

Sport Courts

Other activities throughout the property include horsehoes, corn hole, axe throwing, fire pits, mountain bikes and paddleboards for rent.
