Forrest proposed on February 25, 2023 at the top of Crested Butte Mountain Resort. I had absolutely no idea it was coming, despite all the signs!

After riding all day with our two good friends Caitlin and Daniel, everyone decided to take a series of “group pictures.” I was a little annoyed with how everyone kept asking my opinion on the best background for the photos: “I don’t care, whatever you all want!”

Caitlin and Daniel took pictures first, then it was Forrest’s and my turn. After one just click, he dropped to one knee. I couldn’t even wait for him to get the question out before I said “Well yes of course!”

The ring was a cheap placeholder for two excellent reasons: he didn’t want to drop an expensive ring on the slopes, and he wanted my input on the ring design, while still keeping it a surprise.

On our way down, we overheard someone say “is that another proposal today?”

Yes, it was.
