Although not downtown, NCMA is a great place to spend a morning or afternoon as the sprawling grounds include various art installations as well as a park with sculptures adorning the walkways. To get to NCMA, hop on Wade Avenue heading toward Durham, take the Blue Ridge Road exit and turn right.
