Here are some of our favorite local activities in case you get to town early!
- Take a stroll on Burlingame Avenue (5 minute uber from Embassy Suite). Make sure you get a Jacob's Wonderbar coffee from Philz and a croissant from Backhaus. If you're looking for lunch or dinner, Limon (Peruvian cuisine) is excellent.
- Get Asian food in San Mateo (12 minute uber from Embassy Suites). San Mateo, where Tom Brady was born and raised, is a mecca for Asian food. Walk down B street and get a bowl of noodles from Ox 9 Lanzhou or Kajiken.
- Go for a walk at Crystal Springs Reservoir (18 minute uber from Embassy Suites). Keep an eye out for wild turkeys!
- Walk on the beach at Half Moon Bay (30 minute uber from Embassy Suites). Get dropped off at the Ritz-Carlton and enjoy the views from the hotel or walk along the Cowell-Purisima Coastal Trail.
- Take the train up to San Fran (30 minute BART from SFO or 30 minute Caltrain from Burlingame).
- Go vintage shopping in Haight-Ashbury, the epicenter of the 1960s counterculture movement. Stop by The Grateful Dead's purple Victorian, the house they lived in through the 'Summer of Love'
- Bop around North Beach, San Fran's 'Little Italy'. Get a beer at Mario's Bohemian Cafe and the garlic clam slice from Golden Boy Pizza.
- Throw on some sneakers for the Coastal Trail, an iconic (and easy) city hike with gorgeous views of the Golden Gate Bridge. Start your hike at Lands End Lookout.
- Be touristy at Pier 39 at Fisherman's Wharf. Check out the seals and be sure to stop by Musée Mécanique. But most importantly, get an Irish Coffee from The Buena Vista.
- Take the Muni (subway) to the Castro District, a lovely neighborhood to pass time. Stop by Twin Peaks Tavern for a beer or two.
- Have a pub crawl in The Marina and rub elbows with a tech bro!
