***COVID Update***
Hello loves! We cannot wait to see you all and are so thrilled you're able to join us on June 5th at our wedding. It's coming up so soon!
As most of you know, safety at our event is our #1 priority and we have taken many COVID precautions to ensure everyone is safe. With that said, for any guest who is not fully vaccinated, we will be requiring that they receive a negative COVID test before joining in on the celebration. To make this as easy as possible, we will have rapid tests on-site with us at the venue. These can be picked up anytime during the day on Friday. For folks staying at the hotel, the front desk will also have rapid tests available -- just ask them for a gift bag. If you’d prefer – you can also get tested on your own, but we’d ask that the negative test is no longer than 72 hours prior to the event. Please see our updated FAQ section for more details.
Guests staying at the hotel who are fully vaccinated, please DO NOT ask for a gift bag, as all that will be in them is a rapid test and we want to ensure we have enough to go around for anyone unvaccinated.
We truly hope you understand that this is to protect all coming. Should this change your decision to come, please update your RSVP no later than Saturday, May 15th.
We're REALLY doing it!
To our lovely friends and family -- the time has come -- we're REALLY doing it! Our wedding re-do is happening on June 5th and we so hope you can be there!
To ensure everyone's safety, we've made a lot of changes and wanted to share up-to-date info here with you all. We hope sharing these details will help you with making your decision to attend or not. As more is determined over the next few months, we will be sure to make updates here so you have up-to-date info throughout.
- The barn coordinator is a retired Bacteriologist who worked in epidemiology. Although weddings continued throughout all of 2020 at Sugarland, they had 0 reports of cases tied to the barn or restaurant! Great Job to the staff and coordinator!
- Both the welcome party and wedding day events will be held at Sugarland Barn, which is a slight change from our original plans for the welcome party.
- The ceremony will be outside (weather permitting) and the barn will have both sides open to allow constant flow of open air. The plan is to be outside mingling as much as possible.
- All tables will be placed at least 6 feet apart and you will be sat with your immediate relatives and/or those who are in your "bubble." Extra tables will be available for anyone who'd prefer to sit without others.
- All staff members of Sugarland will be wearing N95 masks 100% of the time.
- Thus far in the vaccine rollout, about half of our invited guests are currently vaccinated. We expect at least 85% of the guest list will have been fully vaccinated by June 5th.
- Masks will be mandatory on the bus to and from the hotel to the venue. No questions asked. No mask = no transportation.
- Disposable masks and hand sanitizer stations will be available throughout the venue.
- When it comes to wearing a mask during the ceremony, reception, etc., please do what you feel most comfortable doing. When in enclosed spaces, such as the rest rooms, and on the buses, please wear your mask. Otherwise it will be up to you and your comfortability level.

Our story began in Portland, Maine, in Spring 2016. We had both worked at the same company for some time, but our paths had not crossed. As luck and timing would have it, we ended up supporting the same office and met at a team outing. Immediately, Chris was impressed with Morgan's charm - okay, really her drink order - an Old Fashioned (with whiskey, not brandy) - and started a conversation that went on throughout the night. The rest is history.
In May of 2016, Chris went abroad on a trip to Ireland and this was when we realized how truly important we had become to one another in such a short time. Absence makes the heart grow fonder, as they say. Also during this trip, Morgan sneaked away to Southern Massachusetts and picked up Jude, her Maine Coon kitten to surprise Chris when he returned. As Chris puts it, Morgan "tricked him into cat ownership" during this time.
Many trips, laughs and concerts later (and one big move to the Windy City), Chris proposed on December 15, 2018 at our Chicago apartment in front of the fireplace and Morgan shrieked "YES!" We can't wait for this exciting new chapter to begin!
