As of 12/24: Merry Christmas!

-- Be sure to see all previous updates as they may answer any questions you still may have

-- Breakfast is included with your stay and is served at The Lake House daily from 7:30-9:30am, just a short walk from your room.

-- We have arranged a trolley to make (3) runs before the wedding and (3) after the wedding as the guest rooms are on the other side of the event areas.

-- Trolley runs prior will be 2pm, 2:30pm, 3pm. 2pm will be for immediate family & wedding party participating in photos. Please arrive at pick-up a little early. The trolley will pick everyone up at the central parking lot in front of the Adirondack chairs and firepit, just near The Lodge.

-- Trolley will also do pick-ups from the reception at the Pavilion at 10pm, 10:30pm, and the final at 11pm.

-- You CAN drive over to the Pavilion for parking, as that's where we will end up for the reception, but cars cannot remain there overnight.

-- The Lodge is central to the guest room budlings and is open daily from 9am to 10pm. This is a small concession & bar area. We have arranged for the Lodge to remain open until 1am the nights of Dec 27 & 28. Guests will pay for anything consumed directly.

-- You will be given a map upon arrival, please be sure to get your bearings for timing of movements around the property!


As of 12/2:

-- Our room block has opened back up to the public, but our group will have the majority of the rooms at The Inn. So, it's safe to say, if you see folks on campus, we are all together!

-- We have gotten everyone an early check-in starting at 1pm, for both days (and they have kindly asked that no one arrive sooner than that).

-- Given this is an Inn, there is no hotel lobby with bar or sitting area at the entrance, etc. You will check-in at a small building and will be guided to your building. They should provide a map of the property so you can get your bearings for where each event will be held. The property is fairly spread out.

-- We will be offering trolley service before the wedding (2 runs) and after the reception (2 runs). Upon arrival, you will be in receipt of more details, locations, etc.

-- Please note, the on-site restaurant is NOT open for lunch on Saturdays should you be arriving that day. You will want to grab a bite on your way in.

-- The Inn is approximately 20 minutes from the airport and about 30 minutes from downtown Charleston, but do allow for any traffic.

— Our room block opens back up to the public 11/27, so please be sure to book your room prior to then!

— Reminder that you have to CALL The Inn to book your room. You may want to discuss room types with the front desk as well. 843-556-0500
— If you live locally and wish to stay onsite, there are still rooms available!
— We are encouraging everyone to stay at The Inn for convenience and ease, as downtown CHS is a bit of a hike!

— Please RSVP to this website, even if you have done any kind of RSVP prior, this is the official! (Apologies for all of the communications & requests, we know it’s been slightly confusing!)
— For those traveling in, please CALL The Inn to book your room. If you try to book online, you will receive a notice there is no availability. You’ll reference the Holmes-Whittemore party.
— Please also see the other updates below! As of 8/28:
— Formal invitations will be going out between late September and early October (we are eagerly awaiting them from our designer overseas!)
-- RSVPs will kindly be requested by October 28
-- Guests coming in will need to book their rooms no later than November 26. Since there are only 54 rooms at the Inn, rooms are subject to availability. Note: Downtown CHS is about 30 minutes from Middleton Place, we highly encourage staying onsite (it is also magical).
— If you are local to Charleston and are wanting to stay at The Inn over the wedding weekend, we kindly ask that you check back with Middleton Place the day before Thanksgiving for their availability, as we want to ensure all guests traveling in from out of town have already booked their rooms. On November 27, the room block is lifted and is opened back up to the public. — After much encouragement, we have added a little more information to the Q+A portion regarding a “registry.”
