Our Wedding

We first met in third grade at Brown Elementary School in St Joseph, MI. Both of us enjoyed playing soccer growing up, and we each played on separate teams throughout childhood. We met on the playground during the first recess of third grade, which happened to be Natalie’s first day at Brown Elementary. Jack asked if Natalie would like to play soccer, and the rest is history! Our friendship continued through middle school into high school, when we first started dating during our freshman year at St. Joseph High School. Our first date was at Celebration Cinema in Benton Harbor, MI, where we saw Maze Runner, (though neither of us was paying any attention to the movie due to tween nervousness).&nbsp; Throughout high school, we loved going on dinner dates at The Buck and Silver Beach Pizza, and often went hiking around the dunes of southwest Michigan. Born a month apart, Natalie turned 16 just a month before Jack, and with driver’s licenses in hand, we made a hobby out of driving all around town and exploring. In June of 2019, we graduated high school together and had committed to colleges: Natalie at Grand Valley State University and Jack at the University of Michigan. Our relationship became long-distance and it was a challenge getting used to this change. Though it was hard (especially at the beginning), we found a way to make it work. We made a principled commitment to one another that we would video call once a day and visit each other in our college towns at a minimum of once a month. After a grueling three years of living apart from one another, Natalie graduated with a B.S. in Psychology in 2022 and they moved in together in Ann Arbor, MI while Jack finished his B.S. in Mathematics. Natalie is now pursuing a Master of Social Work at the University of Michigan while Jack is working full time as a theater manager also at the University of Michigan.&nbsp; We love going on coffee dates, reading, exploring Michigan state parks as true self-proclaimed “Michigan Snobs,” playing games, cooking, making spreadsheets about our favorite musicians, taking photos of fall colors at the cider mill, getting DVDs from the local library, jigsaw puzzles (Natalie) and logic puzzles (Jack), getting 10,000 steps a day by any means possible, seeing live music, reorganizing the bookshelf, and sharing lots of laughs.&nbsp; Though we’ve been together for over 10 years, we are so excited to be spending the rest of our lives together!
