Our Story

I think most of you will know how the two of us met but if you don’t, then let me tell you:

It was during early summer in May 2022, that I (James) went to Krakow for my best mate’s stag do, as we were initially going to Wroclaw but then were advised to go to Krakow instead. So, as these things go, we set off to Krakow from lovely London Stansted and it was not until the next day (May 27th) that we took part in that day’s activities. These were visiting a brewery and then later going on a pub crawl around the centre of the old city. It was at the start of this pub crawl that we met our lovely guide for the evening, this was the moment that I met Ola.

We started chatting that evening and things just ‘clicked’, we both talked about the future (as you do) but when it came to going back to the UK after the stag do had ended, there was something that just had to be done and that was we could not say goodbye.

We kept chatting to each other over good old Facebook Messenger (romantic, I know) and when it came to July later that year, Ola flew over to the UK and it was like we had never been apart. I then went back to Krakow in August to celebrate Ola’s birthday and for the next whole year, each month we alternately flew to each other’s country and went to many places creating wonderful experiences together (such as Bath, Oxford, Zakopane and even Dublin). The air miles certainly began to stack up! It felt and still is, perfect.

We met each other’s family and it just seemed everything was falling into place when during March 2023, I felt that she was the one and began to set plans in motion to organise and set up the place where I would pop the question. I decided upon the Croatian city of Split (ironic for the event about to happen there) and found this absolutely gorgeous restaurant overlooking a beach in a small bay. I booked the table and also found the perfect ring too. Ola kept asking me for ages (every moment she could get), where are we going for her birthday this year, but I had to stay tight-lipped and kept it all a surprise. It was a relief when I finally told her where we were going when we got to Krakow airport before the flight and she gave me the biggest smile! We had such a fantastic time, and when it finally got to the ‘moment’, I was starting to feel nervous. The butterflies were flying around, we had an incredible meal and then in between the main course and dessert, that was ‘it’. The right knee dropped and I asked the question and I was ecstatic when she said, ‘Tak!’ (Yes in Polish).

Since then, I have moved to Krakow and we now live together in Nowa Huta on the eastern side of Krakow and we have been planning this wedding that we cannot wait to share with you. We look forward to seeing you there.

Nasza historia

Myślę, że większość z was wie, jak się poznaliśmy, ale jeśli nie, to pozwólcie, że wam opowiem:

W maju 2022 roku przyjechałem do Krakowa na wieczór kawalerski. Początkowo mieliśmy jechać do Wrocławia, ale doradzono nam aby wybrać Kraków. Tam też się wybraliśmy. Dopiero drugiego dnia (27 maja) wzięliśmy udział w atrakcjach. W południe zwiedzaliśmy browar a wieczorem mieliśmy się wybrać na wycieczkę po barach w centrum. Tego wieczoru spotkaliśmy nasza uroczą przewodniczkę, tego wieczoru poznałem Olę.

Kiedy rozmawialiśmy wszystko po prostu “kliknęło” a kiedy przyszedł czas powrotu do Wielkiej Brytani nie mogliśmy się pożegnać i czuliśmy, że coś musi być zrobione.

Ciągle rozmawialiśmy ze sobą przez starego dobrego Messengera (romantic, I know), a w lipcu Ola przyleciała do Wielkiej Brytanii i czuliśmy się tak jakbyśmy się nigdy nie rozstali. Do Krakowa wróciłem już pod koniec lipca aby świętować urodziny Oli. I tak przez cały rok lataliśmy do siebie i w inne miejsca tworząc wspaniałe wspomnienia (Bath, Oxford, Zakopane, a nawet Dublin). Mile lotnicze z pewnością zaczęły się piętrzyć!

Było i nadal jest idealnie.

Poznaliśmy wzajemnie swoje rodziny. Wszystko układało się tak jak powinno więc w marcu 2023 zdecydowałem, że to ta jedyna i zacząłem przygotowywać się do zadania najważniejszego pytania. Zdecydowałem się na chorwackie miasto Split (jak na ironię ze względu na wydarzenie, które miało się tam odbyć split po angielsku oznacza rozstanie) i znalazłem wspaniałą restaurację z widokiem na plażę w małej zatoce. Zarezerwowałem stolik i znalazłem też idealny pierścionek. Dla Oli była to niespodzianka, ale że jest dociekliwa przez miesiące pytała mnie gdzie jedziemy na jej urodziny. Poczułem ulgę kiedy, na lotnisku, mogłem jej w końcu powiedzieć. Zwłaszcza, że przyjeła to z radością. W Chorwacji bawiliśmy się fantastycznie, ale kiedy “ten moment” zaczął się zbliżać denerwowałem się coraz bardziej. Dookoła mnie latały motyle. Zjedliśmy pyszny posiłek, a przed deserem poczułem, że to właśnie ta chwila. Prawe kolano opadło, a ja zadałem pytanie i byłem zachwycony słysząc: "Tak!".

Od tego czasu przeprowadziłem się do Krakowa i teraz mieszkamy razem w Nowej Hucie po wschodniej stronie Krakowa i planujemy ślub na który Was serdecznie zapraszamy. Nie możemy się doczekać, aby spędzić go z Wami. Do zobaczenia!
