Custom Google Map

We created a saved list for Google maps of a few top spots round Ireland. We included pints, caffeine, food, hikes, scenic viewpoints, history, culture and accommodation.

You can access this list from the below link. :)

With soo many spots, your maps may become cluttered. So we also created a custom map which separates the list into informative icons. If you download the 'Map' we recommend you also download the 'Saved List'. It seems to help with the Google map experience.

Although we have covered a good chunk of the North, we have left some hidden gems for you to hopefully stumble across. Why? Well sure that's the magic of exploring a foreign city or even your own stomping grounds. We look forward to hearing your stories!

Google Slide

We have been hearing some people ask for recommendations on what to do or where to stay. We have put together a ‘Google Slides’ for recommendations on areas to stay in Belfast and good things to do. For those staying in Ireland for longer, we have added further suggestions for places around the island.

And if you want some impartial ideas. Here are 124 spots listed by Atlas Obscura, a few of which are new to me!

Must Do's before or after the I Do's

Although we want you to create your own journey, we propose a few ideas which will not disappoint.

History of Belfast

- Black Taxi tour

- Titanic museum

Belfast Pubs

Belfast boasts a large amount of pubs and bars. It is in these establishments you can soak up an atmosphere unlike anywhere else. Whether you drink or not, we recommend heading down to the Cathedral Quarter (CQ) for a few. Here you will find a large selection of pubs in short proximity. If you are looking for the cheapest pint, use a handy pint tracker https://www.pinttracker.com/

Otherwise, we shortlist the below pubs.

- Duke of York (CQ)

- Dirty Onion (CQ)

- The Thirsty Goat (CQ)

- Harp Bar (CQ)

- Maddens

- Kelly's Cellars

- Points

North Coast Gems

If it is possible to rent a car, head up the coast (to the North). From a day trip to a few more there is plenty to do, from coffee shops, small towns, hikes, scenic views and surfing. The best way to discover the coast gems is to get lost on the way. We recommend driving up the small windy roads and stumble across the hidden beaches, castle ruins and scenic views. Below are a few spots we recommend to not miss along the way.

- Murlough Bay (Take Torr Road from Cushendun)

- Ursa Minor (Bakery)

- Morton's (Fish & Chips)

- Giant's Causeway (Natural Wonder of the World)

Wild Atlantic Way (The Wild Whest)

If you plan to stay 7 or more days in Ireland, we would suggest driving along the Wild Atlantic Way. You could comfortably drive it in 1-3 days depending on how much of the coast you do, but we recommend spending at least a week as otherwise you will miss all the magic it has to offer. We spent 10 days driving through only 3 of the coastal counties. Every County in Ireland has (sometimes multiple) nicknames. The west coast counties hold titles such as 'Yeats County', 'The Heather County', 'The Tribesmen', and 'The Kingdom'.

County Sligo

- Benbulbin (Walk / Hike)

- Strandhill Beach (Surfing)

- The Strand Bar (Pints)

- Carrowkeel Passage Tombs (Megalithic Tombs / Walk)

- Kilcullens Seaweed Baths (Old Spa House)

County Mayo

- Béal an Mhuirthead Tidal Pool (Swim)

- Keel Beach (Beach)

- Westport (Lovely town)

- Crough Patrick (Hike)

County Galway

- Connemara National Park (Beautiful Drive & potential hikes)

- Kylemore Abbey (Nunnery)

- Sky Road (Scenic Drive)

- Inishmore (Day trip to this Aran island)

- Galway City (Music and Nightlife)
