Brief History: In the 1930s landscape architects transformed Mason’s Island from neglected, overgrown farmland into Theodore Roosevelt Island, a memorial to America’s 26th president. They conceived a 'real forest' designed to mimic the natural forest that once covered the island. Today miles of trails through wooded uplands and swampy bottomlands honor the legacy of a great outdoorsman and conservationist. We'll be sticking to the Memorial Plaza (no trail wandering). Transportation will be provided to and from the Island (From Intercontinental Wharf and Then To Fiola Mare).

Join us on a private boat cruise captained by good friends, Deb and Scott. We will see the best of DC/MD/VA shores, (monuments, historical sites, and harbors) along the Potomac River, ending at the SW Waterfront near suggested hotels to stay. (see Travel) We will board the boat right in front of Fiola's at the Georgetown Waterfront (The Wall), go to Old Town, Alexandria where we'll get out and move around a bit (local bar tbd), then end back at the SW Waterfront (The Wharf) where we can carry on partying on the boat and order some local cuisine.
