When should I arrive in the morning?
In the morning we will begin serving an informal breakfast at 8:00AM. If you don't want breakfast, please arrive by 9:00AM to participate in the Baraat.
Do I need to be at both events?
You are certainly invited! In short, if you would like to watch our actual wedding ceremony, come in the morning. If you would like to have dinner and a party, come in the evening. We would love if our guests could come to both events, as those attending just the reception won't actually get to see us get married but please do what works best for you.
Are children invited?
Children under 13 are not invited- Please arrange for childcare in advance. We hope that we can treat you to a day off!
Do I get a plus one?
All extra guests will be indicated on your invitation- If you have a question please ask as we've done our best to include all long term partners.

We encourage all guests to celebrate through color: Bring your A game and don't be afraid to stand out! Please do not wear black.
DRESS CODE: What should I wear to the Reception?
Black Tie Optional, Formal Required: Gowns or jumpsuits, lehengas, sarees, suit and tie or tuxes, etc.
Have fun and strut your stuff! Examples of what not wear include: Jeans, khakis, polos, T shirts, tennis shoes, work boots, casual sun dresses, gorilla suit, etc. Please do not wear a white dress.
Indoor or Outdoor?
Indoor ceremony and reception, but the lawn and outdoor bar will be open! Cocktail hour will be outdoors.
There are two events. Why is the Ceremony separate from the Reception but still the same day?
In a South Indian wedding, finding an auspicious time to get married is tradition and will mean good fortune for the marriage going forward. Tradition states that we should get married in the morning on the wedding day. Even our wedding day is an approved auspicious date!
The Reception is going to be the "party" - Dinner, drinks, dancing. As most people prefer to party after dinner instead of midday, we thought it best to have a break midday instead of do a midday reception or two day wedding.
What am I supposed to do between the two events?
As our planner will be flipping the room to prepare for the evening, and and we will be doing a costume change, guests will be provided a shuttle back to their hotels where they can rest, change clothes, and recoup before the party begins! If you are local, you have time to go home or you are free to hang out in the AC Marriot Hotel.
I've heard Indian weddings are long, how long is the ceremony?
The actual marriage ceremony is a series of rituals and prayers that take place over the course of around two hours. You definitely don't need to be seated and staring at us the entire time- feel free to walk around, go outside for a bit and mingle as you sip your morning chai!
What is a Baraat?
The baraat is a parade involving live music and dancing, in which the groom is brought to the wedding venue. We encourage all our guests to attend to liven up the start of the day!
Can I bring my gift to the venue?
You don't need to get us a gift, but if you do please try to send it to our home in advance: We will not have a large table for gifts at the venue but we will have a box for cards and other cash gifts.
What meal options will be provided at Lunch and Dinner?
Our meals will be entirely delicious vegetarian and vegan spreads.
As this is a traditional Hindu wedding, we will not be serving any meat products.
Will there be an open bar?
Yes! Please bring some cash to tip the bartenders if you wish.
Will there be sober options at the Reception?
We plan to have mocktails and other sober options at the bar.
I want to wear Indian clothes but I'm not sure where to shop?
Awesome, we'd love to see it! If you are local, Roop Sari Palace is a good option in Houston and there are few shops in Round Rock. You can also order outfits online from places like Nalli silks and Utsav Fashions. There are lots of options and website to choose from!
