Things to Do

Hood River Fruit Loop

Picture of Hood River Fruit Loop
The Hood River Fruit Loop is a collection of fruit stands, flower fields, cideries, wineries, breweries, and u-pick orchards throughout the Hood River Valley. It is so much fun to explore the different farm stands and sample their wares; we go to Hood River every fall to pick apples and pears. Our favorite spots on the Fruit Loop are Draper Girls for U-Pick fruit, Stave & Stone for wine flights and gorgeous views, and The Gorge Whitehouse for craft ciders, ice cream, and food (this spot is just across the street from our venue if you need a place to kill time before our wedding!).

Hood River Waterfront Park

The waterfront park in Hood River is a great spot to spend a couple hours - there are walking paths along the water, a playground for kids, restaurants (our favorite is pFriem), and it's the best spot in town to sit and watch all the wind surfers and kite surfers on the river.

The Society Hotel Spa & Bathhouse

The Society Hotel in Bingen, WA (just across the river from Hood River) has a family-friendly spa and bathhouse that is available by appointment to the public. They have an indoor saltwater soaking pool, an outdoor hot pool, a cold plunge pool and a cedar sauna. We've found it fun and refreshing when we've gone in the past!

Hiking and Mountain Biking

There’s lots of hiking and biking around Hood River - there are scenic trails in the Columbia River Gorge as well as woodsy hikes and ones with views of Mount Hood.

Mount Hood Railroad

Mount Hood Railroad offers scenic family friendly train tours through the Hood River Valley. They also have a unique rail-bike experience that you can book if you’re wanting a novel activity and don’t have young children (we’re feeling bummed we have to wait a few years before we can try this!).
