Lighthouse Point Park, operated by the City of New Haven, is an 82-acre park located at the eastern point of New Haven Harbor, approximately five miles from the New Haven Green. The park features the octagonal Five Mile Point Light, which was deactivated in 1877, and the Lighthouse Point Carousel, which was built circa 1905 and features 70 carved figures and two chariots. Both the carousel and the 1916 Renaissance Revival-inspired building in which it is housed are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
