Getting There

By Plane

If you are flying, there are multiple airport options:

Seattle-Tacoma International Airport: SeaTac will likely be the least expensive and offer the most amount of direct flights. It is about a 2 hour drive from Coupeville (not taking into consideration Seattle traffic). However, you do have the option of taking the ferry from Mukilteo to Clinton, which is always breathtaking! (See "by car" below for information regarding the ferry). Note: TSA lines at SeaTac are notoriously long, so if you do not have TSA pre-check, give yourself plenty of time at the airport before your flight home.

Paine Field (Everett): This airport is located closest to the venue (and avoids the bulk of Seattle traffic), but flights here are limited and oftentimes more expensive. Currently, there are direct flights into Paine Field from SFO, LAX, PHX, SAN, and TUS.

Bellingham International Airport: This medium-sized airport is not only easy to navigate, but it avoids Seattle traffic. Bellingham Airport offers many non-stop options, so we definitely recommend checking. If you are flying in, make sure to stop at a Woods Coffee on your way out of town. (Their dirty chai lattes are Abby's favorite!)

By Car

There are multiple ways to get to the Island.

Airporter Shuttles: While we recommend renting a car, this is a great option for parties where multiple people are arriving at different times and/or different airports (the first person arriving can pickup the rental car and head to the venue while the people getting in later can take the shuttle). The Whidbey SeaTac Shuttle offers daily shuttle service to and from SeaTac and Whidbey Island daily. You can find their schedule here. If taking this shuttle, we recommend arriving/departing from the Coupeville stop. If you are flying into Bellingham or Paine Field, the Bellair Airporter offers daily service. However, the closest drop-of location is Anacortes, which is ~50 minutes from Coupeville, so you will need someone to pick you up there. You can find their schedule here.

Driving Southbound: If coming from the north (i.e., north of Seattle) Google Maps will do a great job of taking you to the venue. From I-5, you will take the exit in Burlington onto State Rte. 20 W towards Anacortes. At the roundabout, take the second exit to stay on State Rte. 20. To get on the island, you'll cross over Deception Pass Bridge (180 ft. above the water!) and stay on 20 through Oak Harbor until you get to Coupeville. If you have time, we recommend stopping at Deception Pass (there is a parking lot on the Whidbey Island side) and walking the bridge. The views are absolutely breathtaking!

Driving Northbound: If coming from the South (Seattle or farther south) you have two options to get to the Island. Depending on Ferry schedules and availability, both options are about the same length of time.

Option 1: Drive over Deception Pass. Heading Northbound on I-5, take the exit in Burlington onto State Rte. 20 W towards Anacortes. At the roundabout, take the second exit to stay on State Rte. 20. To get on the island, you'll cross over Deception Pass Bridge (180 ft. above the water!) and stay on 20 through Oak Harbor until you get to Coupeville.

Option 2: Clinton Ferry. From I-5, exit onto WA-525 N towards Clinton / Mukilteo. Stay on WA-525 N and follow signs to the ferry terminal. Depending on the time of day, there may be a line of cars backed up on the right-hand side of the row (there is a lane designated for cars waiting for the ferry). Stay in this line until you get to the ferry check-stand. There, you will purchase your ticket and get your lane assignment. On the ferry, enjoy a 20 minute scenic cruise through the Pudget Sound (look out for whales!) and exit the ferry onto WA-525 in Clinton. Stay on WA-525 until you reach Coupeville. (Note that WA-525 turns into State Rte. 20 about 5 miles outside of Coupeville.)

Getting Around the Island

Although the island does have rideshare and we will be providing transportation to and from the wedding venue, we highly recommend renting a vehicle if you are flying in. There are so many fun places to explore on the Island!

Accommodations

Because accommodations on the island are limited, we've blocked all the rooms at a host hotel. It is important to us that our friends and family are not just together for a few hours on our wedding day but are able to spend the weekend getting to know one another. We strongly encourage that you stay at the host hotel or as close to it as possible in Coupeville (we'll be providing wedding-day transportation to and from the host hotel).

Host Hotel: The Coupeville Inn

200 NW Coveland St. Coupeville, WA 98239
(360)678-6668
Check-In: Friday, May 24, 2024 | Check-Out: Monday, May 27, 2024

We strongly encourage all of our guests to stay at the Coupeville Inn. We have 18 rooms blocked off from May 24-27th (we can reserve up to 75% capacity). These include a mix of single queens, double queens, and single kings, view or non-view, and first or second floor. Rates range from ~$150-200/night. There is a 2-night minimum stay.

** Reservations and bookings can only be made through the phone. Call Darlene at (360)676-6668 and mention that you are booking for the Jacobs wedding. Heads up: Darlene is a talker!**

Before January 1, 2024: You may call the front desk at (360)678-6668 to reserve your room. If the room is not part of our room block (say, for example, you want a room with a specific view) the Inn will pull that room into the block and reserve it for you.

Note: Coupeville Inn is pretty old school, so while they can reserve your room, they will not be able to accept payment until February 2024.

February 1, 2024: The Inn will begin accepting payment. If you already called and reserved a room, your room will be held for you until payment is received.

March 24, 2024: Final day to book a room in our block. Rooms that are not paid for (including rooms that were reserved) will be released to the public on May 25, 2024.

Other Accommodation Options

We get it, you don't want to stay with the party. Here are a few other options:

Captain Whidbey Inn: Overlooking the ocean at Penn Cove, this 1907 inn with original timbered walls and ceilings is 2.5 miles from downtown Coupeville. Rooms range from $200-250/night.

Salty Von's Waterfront Inn: Located on in the heart of the Coupeville Historic Waterfront District on Penn Cove, the fully restored Coupeville Cash Store is now home to three stunning waterfront suites. If you are looking for more space than a hotel room but want to still be in Coupeville, there is no better option. Suites range from $350-650/night.

Anchorage Inn Bed and Breakfast: Looking for that home-away-from-home feel? Love breakfast as much as Abby? Located 3 blocks from the host hotel and 5 blocks from the ceremony site, the Anchorage Inn B&B has 6 rooms to choose from. Rooms range from $150-200/night.

Air Bnb/VRBO: There are a handful of booking options available in and around Coupeville. Because our wedding is over a holiday weekend, we recommend booking early.
