We will soon be adding some hotel recommendations for you all. There are also many AirBnBs if you prefer that to a hotel.
If you are keen to get sorted then we would recommend staying in/near the Centro Storico (Old Town/Historic Centre) of Lecce (circled in map below). This way you are in the heart of a beautiful baroque town where you can walk through the lanes to various bars, restaurants and sites.
(Our venue is an approx. 15 minutes drive from here).
Alternative areas to stay nearby (shown in the map):
Mazzini is a small area near Piazza Mazzini, with a more residential feel, which has lots of shops and bars. Approx. 7 minute walk from Centro Storico.
Leuca is another small area with a residential, more tranquil, less crowded feel where you can relax and get a peek inside the life of Lecce’s locals. A handful of restaurants and bars. Approx. 15 minute walk from Centro Storico.
San Pio is located right by one of the old arches into the Centro Storico where you will find a modernist residential area with a few restaurants and shops, and the Villa Reale Gardens. Approx. 15 minute walk from Centro Storico.
Ferrovia is right by Lecce train station if you're planning on taking some day trips and don't have a car. It has some stores and a few restaurants. Approx. 15 minute walk from Centro Storico.
If you want a more rural experience then there are Masserias (Farmhouse hotels) on the outskirts of Lecce.
