Getting to Chamonix is straightforward—fly to GVA and take a 75 minute bus. No crazy travel plans needed!
Fly into the Geneva Airport (GVA)
Book an Alpy Bus, (or another ride service, we've just had good luck with Alpy Bus) to take you from the airport to Chamonix. The ride is about 75 minutes and crosses the Swiss border, but no need to worry about the border crossing here.
There are also other services, but we recommend choosing one that is accommodating for delayed flights (they'll put you on a later bus or wait for you rather than missing it entirely).
We recommend to coordinate with family and friends so you can travel together!
Family and many friends will be staying at the Chalet Hôtel le Prieuré & Spa - Chamonix. There is no group rate or blocked rooms, so best to book on your own here.
Chamonix is a very small town and pretty much everything is in walking distance. If you want to stay a little farther out, there's a bus service.
The base of the Brevent gondola, which we'll be taking up to the ceremony is here.

Colin and I have stayed in airbnbs every time we've been to Chamonix and have had good luck with them! There are lots little studios and 1-bedrooms available for good prices. Many are in Chamonix Sud—the southern section of town—which is a great location for both walking into town and up to the lift. When searching, filter for "Wifi" because not all airbnbs have it.
We recommend the host Chamonix Holidays. The link below takes you to all their listings.
